I’m currently rewatching Hannibal (for the first time as diagnosed and out of the closet, it’s such a different experience), I think that’s a comfort show despite its darkness. Criminal Minds is definitely another, and probably my oldest and longest, comfort show. And recently Our Flag Means Death.

Proving I stuck around til the end….I’m much older than most of your viewers, but I’m on the spectrum. Got diagnosed when I was 37 (53 now) and my two children are also on the spectrum. My comfort shows and movies are anything that Stephen King has produced himself and Friends and Frasier tv-series! You really make me think about stuff I haven’t before in terms how you feel and why you feel a certain way. Thank you for that! It keeps me alert and I use it in the way I relate to my children and others with autism. 🙏🏻

I was also diagnosed in my late 30s (38), but I'm only 40. I love and rewatch Frasier every year or two. I consider it a guilty watch, because over the years I've moved further and further Left and the show is basically "wealthy liberals create their own problems", but it's funny enough to make up for it.

Elementary is definitely my biggest comfort show. I cycle through it, Bones, and Person of Interest (all american shows) almost constantly. Sometimes I also sprinkle in Castle (through season 6), and Criminal Minds. I'm all about the crime shows that become formulaic so I'm not left guessing. I also will find YT channels I adore and watch their videos over and over on a loop until I think in their voices and their aesthetics - especially journaling/planner creators. I also just want you to know that your commonplace book inspired me to add a writers notebook back into my journal system. I tried to keep my writing in my bullet journal and it never felt right. I'm in a bujo TN system and so I added a slightly smaller notebook in that will only be for creative/expressive writing and it's aesthetic in my system feels to me like your field notes. Thank you, for making your system work for you and inspiring others to be innovative in their own way.

My comfort show is Mushishi! It taught me a lot as a young person about accepting my disability and seeing myself as part of nature, not separate from it. But it's really my comfort show because the sound effects and atmosphere are so special. I get a lot of comfort from your videos like this one, thank you.

This may sound cliché, but my comfort movies are the LOTR and the first and second The Hobbit movies - those are the first that come to mind that I watch when feeling down. Terry Pratchett movies also help. The Lord of the Rings trilogy and soundtracks are my ultimate comforts - I have fallen asleep while sick and woken up to the “change disk” screen so many times; the Return of the King soundtrack will knock me out within the first few minutes, even if I was previously struggling to settle. Otherwise, it’s My Neighbor Totoro. I don’t do shows very well, so will otherwise watch your videos or I’ve started following some vlog channels from Korean cafes and Japanese/Korean daily life for making drinks, making food (mostly bento), and cleaning/organizing their apartments. 😹

My comfort shows/films are so cliche I worry they verge on cringe! The LOTR films are a big comfort watch for me. I also watch BBC Sherlock a lot, I can relate to what you mean it is far, far from perfect, but it got me through a bad time, so I will always be attached. I am fascinated by Victorian Gothic, and Ripper Street and Penny Dreadful ( only the first two seasons) are big comfort shows for me. The aesthetic of Penny Dreadful is just so beautiful to.

I spend about 10-15 in my commonplace and habit/sleeptracker per day though it can vary. I journal about 3-4 per week and those sessions can range from 10 minutes if there's not much to say and up to 3 hours if there is a lot on my mind. I don't think there's a set time that you should strive for every time, it should come kinda naturally so there's really no wrong answer for how long your should spend writing!

I really enjoy this kind of videos. I usually watch them early morning on the weekends, unless I have time right when you post them. So it is always cuddled in bed with my cat or with a cup of coffee or tea. I also spend about 20 minutes to 1 hour on my book, mostly because I journal about my day or do some common-placing, depending on how I’m feeling. I really don’t do it every day, sometimes I really don’t feel it. Is more important for me that my time with my books is nice and sweet rather than a chore. However, there have been a couple times when I have spent a few hours on my book, not very good days. I feel the struggle about getting a job when you are neurodivergent. I do have a regular job, but the harm past jobs have done has not gone unnoticed. I feel like forcing myself to “fit” did me wrong, BUT it also game skills so… it was worth it I guess. However, I do not wish it to anyone and if you can choose a different path do it, just do it. I forgot. Pride and Prejudice 2005 and Dracula with Winona Rider. Those movies make me so happy. Two different things but that’s a good representation of me 😅

I would love to do that more but it also seems daunting to me to change the way I work in certain books, so I end up whit 4-6 different sketchbooks/journals in my bag. because I feel the need to categorise everything beforehand. But the idea of adding an other little book as a commonplace book sounds lovely 😊

I spend about 10-20 minutes in the morning. usually in my digital art journal but not always. It depends on my feelings and how awake I am. Then, I spend however long I need after work with a pen & paper journal. This is where I brain dump about the day & my feelings. What went well, what could have been better. I like doing it after work as it allows me to declutter the stress of the day. I can then move forward and be present in the evening with family, or be more creative in the evening as well. This takes about 30 minutes. Maybe longer, maybe shorter. I grew up watching various crime and documentary shows so I return back to them often. Studio Ghibili is a love I return back to often. I also enjoy watching KZbin Videos. Oh! I forgot to mention -- your videos are amazing, just the way they are!

The "prove it" shocked me hahaha I didn't expect to be put on the spot like that especially because I never really thought about it before. I recently picked up the habit of tracking what shows and books I consume (inspired by you hehe) and that's really the only reason I can answer this question. I have watched Pride and Prejudice and Little Women twice each since the start of the year and I spent a whole 2 weeks watching Bluey as a 22 year old so I guess that's as close to "comfort" shows as I could ever get. The Lord of the Rings movies also have a special place in my heart and my friend and I both really enjoy watching Twilight over and over again. There are a lot of issues with Twilight (obv) but it's trashy and perfect brain rot material which is what we usually look for when we don't know what to watch. In a way, it's our go to when we don't want to think too hard, and I definitely don't need a lot of my brain cells to work to recite lines from the movies word per word.

Megan, love this video so much! Love that your favorite paper is graph (the superior type!) and the little houses (as someone with similiar experiencies, i also have my little talisms). As for comfort shows, i keep coming back to the first season of russian doll (nathasha lyonne is so GOOD in it) and fleabag's second season. For when i truly just want to wach something very familiar, its spirited away and kikis delivery service, both parts of my childhood that truly conforts me

About the blank space in the left hand side of the hobonichi weeks, you can see the faint grid. I use that to align my writing.

I had a traumatic childhood as well, and also really just want some day to have my own family + safe home. I've noticed myself in the last few years being drawn to the house doodle too. Target (in the US) sells lots of little simple ceramic home trinkets through out the year and I've collected a few. I love your channel + I really resonated with what you said in your post 💕 thank you for sharing with us 🥺
