Sorry Athena the flowers were Craigsbill I 🤔💭 think. We walked down Lathkill Dale everyday with our Golden Retiever Holly when we lived in Youlgreave. Happy memories of a much loved part of our family.

Hi Athena, I used to be a stone mason and concerning your train of thought on limestone.. it's actually time and pressure that creates the rocks. Because there was a sea billion of years ago (just as in Belgium, where the also have limestone mines) you can see certain fossils and debris in the stone. By the way, I've been following your channel since I stumbled upon it last spring and it is awesome! Keep up the great work :-)

Loved seeing Oslo sitting upright in the van seat next to you at the end with a content & sated look on his face after his walk & food. His mannerisms were rather human like as he sat there sated, licking his lips - looking ahead, ready for the journey home😊

Thank you Athena for sharing your weekend, what an amazing video, you have spent a lot of work and effort to do this. I just love so many things about it. From the beautiful house and location with all its rustic charm, the collection of milk from milk bottles, how lovely and quaint. Your beautiful dog, he’s absolutely gorgeous and such a beautiful creature and a wonderful personality, I love the way he was excited about his treats and the way he’s just sitting next to you in your van as he looked out the windscreen. Love the jars, the little coffee pot on the stove, the views of you putting in your slippers, and the walk!! How wonderful I love all the mindful things, just being in the moment and noticing all the lovely things, the water under the bridge .... gosh, I feel I need to pay tribute to so many things, the way you are enjoying the sun, oh yes the relaxing music (a bit sad, the lyrics but beautiful) But just lying in bed at 6:30 relaxing and watching your video, I just forgot about everything and just relaxed and enjoyed the moments portrayed in the video. Absolutely amazing Athena . I wish you all the very best for your book and thank you for taking the trouble to make and share this video, Take care, Chris xx

I came to the comments looking for the ID of the plant, which is not Jacob's Ladder but something that grows in our small garden and now I can name, thanks guys! I did see Jacob's Ladder around Ricklow Dale in the western part of Lathkill, near the surge of the river. Areas with the plant were fenced to protect it from sheep and feet-stomping, however many plants "escaped" and grew elsewhere. Thanks Athena for bringing some attention to the real inhabitants and the ecology of the places shown!

Another brilliant video that I thoroughly enjoyed! The Jacob's ladder was infact a Meadow Cranesbill (Geranium pratense). So that's probably why the leaves didn't look like a ladder. Haha, we're always learning aren't we. Keep up the vlogs, love 'em.

I'm a beginner botanist, got loads to learn. That's not Jacobs Ladder. It's a beautiful Wood Cranesbill, if you look at seeds pods they look a bit like a crane's bill hence the common name. Jacob's ladder is a lovely plant, and it's cool to know where it grows because I've never found it wild in Cumbria.
