My friend, a psychologist noted that your problem, such as the fear of being embarrassed by your race/culture - if analyzed in professional psychology terms - is usually associated with well-known psychological disorders such as SAD (social anxiety disorder), APS (avoidant personality disorder). You can google up more on these disorders and see if you can help yourself, or someone can. Good luck.

This vlog is so beautiful. It reminds me of when I visited my grandmother in Puerto Rico. I spent most of my time in the mountains, lounging in a hammock surrounded by nature, enjoying great coffee, a good book, and beautiful sounds. Watching this video brings back memories of when I saw the film “The Scent of Green Papaya”; it evokes that same serene environment. I don’t know, maybe it’s just me, but the Vietnamese people I've met seem very similar to the people of my culture. We both are very persistent, cherish our culture, and do everything we can to find happiness and survive. That’s to say, I really admire the Vietnamese people, and I hope to visit Vietnam one day. It looks very peaceful and inspiring.

I so hear you on moisturizer when its hot and humid. I'm from the southern US and in the summer , it just all slides right off!😂. Also can identify with your mosquito dilemma. They love me , too. In July and August I rarely venture outside before sunrise and after sunset. Even with repellent, it only takes SECONDS for them to find me? 🦟 You hair also gets wavier in the humidity just like mine. Loved that bathroom in the eco-cabin. That was gorgeous. Thanks for sharing your cousins wedding with us. and explaining the rituals. ❤

It is nice to stay in touch with your root, especially for those who were born and raised in the US. I appreciate your parents brings you to Vietnam often. I am ABC and so many of my ABC friends who don't speak Chinese and don't know about Chinese culture. As they are growing older, they wish they had some knowledge about their roots. It is not fault of ABCs but the fault of their parents who never pay attention or purposely to avoid to teach their kids about their culture background and their roots.

Your father has such a wonderful sense of humor🥰 Ahh family, always something going on even when you think the day will be quiet. I am more like you and prefer quieter days, but then you spent the day at the floating market and I was in heaven (does that make sense?) I guess I'm an introverted-extrovert (more introvert🤭) I like new places and seeing how people live especially but need time alone to recharge. ANYWAY this trip looks wonderful. The traditional wedding to the lovely cottage getaway with out door shower. I've had outdoor showers in Hawaii and the USVI, they can be very relaxing with the sky above and plant and stone around you.
