It make sense to swap koti for an andres lee... islanders can also pull a depth piece in fast or dury or a suzuki. Kotkemi is a 3rd liner and on Car he barley fits in and finds himself the oddman out.. He should be looked at as a solid 3rd liner to put up 35pts.... i would say a 1.5mil overpayment but he can still come into his own in the right situation. Islanders need 3 things this offseaon. 1 to move pelech and pullock to 3rrd line and to try to find a way to get Filip Hronek or a Brandan Montour to pair with dobson.... for some reason i see colton paryako a perfect fit here... On top of this big change they need to also address their prospect pool which has to be bottom of league. This is kinda why i think a lee for kotokemi makes sense... need to get younger and add pieces and wally aint the guy or any propsect that played... Last but not least. Coach. Patrik roy is your guy and if their is a player that dont mesh with him he needs to be moved. This offseason is critical for the future of this franchise for they are clearly not cup contenders.... they need to solidify their playoff chances by getting younger, pairing dobson, and controling culture

Here's one for you. Oliver Wahlstrom for Kakko Kaapo, straight up. Both are RFA's who need a change to try and find their game.

Not happening. Kappo had a really good year two years ago with over 20 goals. Wahlstrom hasn't even smelt twenty goals. The Rangers and Islanders don't make trades. The Isles would do this in a minute, but not the Rangers.

I would be more comfortable with overpaying for Seth Jarvis then take a chance to bring in Kotka. If we could come up with a deal where they cover 50% of the Kotka deal...I'd be open to getting both players.

In a perfect world Carolina buys him out and we sign him, wouldn’t trade for him, I’d trade for necas but I doubt Carolina would want to trade him to a divisional rival
