A weird way to do Miriam Challenge #5

Finally managed! Several hours of pain, but i managed. I used Tiento to your Thorned Hairs a lot to minimize resets on the blades and the last part i figured it was best to give up trying to time my fall and just use tiento + pelican effigy to tank the fireballs and dash to the end safely. Thanks again for the help!

For the second half I was having a ton of trouble with the swinging axes, so I started using Tiento to your Thorned Hairs whenever I was about to enter an axe section, and it saved me so many times.

If you can't land on the second platform in the beginning, you can throw a projectile in the air to buy you more time.

Everyone counted fireballs, I counted 1 minute and 1 second from hitting the glass thing that starts the platform moving. Basically: if I hit the glass at 1:50:xx, I would fall off the wall at 0:49:xx. Worked fairly well, and you can give or take half a second on either side of that number (try to not overshoot that time but it’s your run have fun :D)

Could be safer to count the fireballs. I’m on switch and it’s lagging to hell in this whole challenge area. So it takes longer. Missed time it 3 times so far..

Not even close. Hollow Knight character control is actually fair, Blasphemous is just broken

Hollow knight feels responsive. I would say the movement control is smoother and more consistent. Blasphemous can feel like a ballerina struggle fucking a garbage truck.

I'm having a glitch at 0:21, when i'm jumping down to the bottom platform, Penitent lands it for about 0.1-0.2 ms, then falls through it to the spikes. Seems like I can't get decent amount of right motion to land to the stable sprite corner, as you did. Mine one is landing a bit more left. Sometimes it happens, though.

Happened to me too. Try doing a ranged attack as you are falling down the second hole. That seems to cancel your momentum, allowing you to land safely without bouncing off of the platform and onto the spikes.

also maniacally hitting the jump button as you hit the platform can save you there, but the ranged attack tip Dreac0s mentioned works better

Trying this out right now and you have to be so incredibly precise when jumping between the spikes in the beginning… I keep getting skewered on the air next to the spikes… Did you use a particular set of rosary beads for this?

Use the timer on the top right and time it exactly like i did from the moment you break the glass to the moment you let go of the wall its about 1 min 2 sec and steer a tiny bit to the left when dropping

Two of the most thrilling moments in this challenge #5 are : 1:29 will I made it to jump through the lantern hit? 1:49 will I made it in time before the second guilotin strike me? I took a half day to actually finish this goddamn challenge.

It is a lot faster if you don't break the glass at 0:33 and just jump down, because then the platform is not moving in the range of the axes and you can jump whenever you want.

Wow, you found some really nice short cuts! I kept running out of time on the very last section. This is the hardest platforming I’ve ever seen in a game. I tried using the mason’s wheel to increase movement speed and to my surprise it actually makes you jump farther too, which did help with those lantern sections. Now I just need to shave the time down with those shortcuts.

It can actually be even further optimized, on the very start instead of dropping off the ladder after the shot, just jump to the right while it's still moving, saves you like 4 seconds. Don't ask me how many times I skewered myself on spikes while I practiced the jump though.

Just try it out, you'll see it will be there if you drop after first shot while the ladder is still moving. It literally takes you one try to confirm or deny my claim about saving 4 seconds.

Oddly enough I didn't "count the seconds" and just drop in the end, I just used pelican effigy like a chad and chugged potions that gave me immunity while blue fires pelted me. It's less fancy but not slower, since you gotta wait (if I'm not mistaken) 22 seconds on the top either way.

I dont recommend trying the 1 minute 2 second skip. I find the time it takes the platform to reach the end inconsistent. It's way easier to just ride it to the entrance. The second skip jumping down from one to the other is very helpful though.

The jump you make at 0:20 is almost impossible to mimic 😂, I don't even know how you are able to control your landing so perfectly, I always end up falling 2 millimeters before the bottom platform...

I did this almost the exact same way.... the problem is, this games hit box for spikes is fuckin terrible, and often the controls are bad too. Alot of times he wont grab onto a ladder in mid air, or when I do the sword bounce off them lamps, it will decide not to work... and if you are thinking I am just doing it wrong.... I tested it, made sure I was doing it right. It gets frustrating. Haven't played part 2 yet but hopefully all this garbage is cleaned up in it. GREAT game otherwise

Epic stuff man, respect. Nah bro nah...this fucking game bro.. Died like 20 times at second 30-32 that fucking lamp jump broken mechanics. Doesn't grab the edge at all, I can make the full jump like 1 in 20 times even though the lamp hits are perfect. Tried hitting early hitting late, multiple hits. This fucking shit is getting on my nerves. Virtually at the end game but haven't touched this fucking game in 3 weeks due to this tedious shit. I feel like I'm going to postpone it indefinitely because of this.

Literally that last minute hold than drop did not work on the switch idk if they change it or what but it was 48-56 an it felt random everytime I tried to adjust I was a sec too late or the platform was already gone so freaking frustrating but happy it’s over now. ok i stopped his "hangtime" at 54 seconds and figured out that on ps5 you have to jump off at 52 seconds, trust me its really disgusting to die at this part a couple of times just because u don´t know the right time...🤮 start the timer when the platform is in the center of the carpet (2:06)
