Starting with a brand new complete BMX bike and upgrading it!

The concept behind this series is simple; start with a brand new complete bike and upgrade it one part at a time the way someone actually might if they bought a complete BMX bike. The start is a Fit PRK medium and in this episode we upgrade the front wheel plus add hub guards! Should I lace up the other double walled rim to the current hub on the bike?

I love my fit freecoaster LHD set it has almost instant engagement, stayed completely true without any adjusting, and works just every single time it came that way I’ve done nothing to it. Haven’t even had to take it apart. I have a easier time with it than my clutch v2 for sure but there is a lot more weight to the fit rear wheel

When upgrading from single wall Im usually looking for wheels with double wall rims or industrial grade seamless steel wheels you find on carts or coaster brake hub bikes. Plastic mags tend to break too easy under tire pressure or stress but are good for racing or freestyle tricks.metal mags are heavy but dont need spoke replacements.

I guess flatland drive side doesn’t really matter much so they probably only made one side to make it simpler
