I have three Boston Scally caps: 1. Slante Patchwork Edition, 2. Lunchbox Blackbox Edition, and 3. The Hound Tan with Blue & Orange. I love them all! I got hundreds of compliments during the month of March & St Patty's Day weekend on my Slainte.

Im a firefighter so I picked up a "Responder" from them in black with the red Maltese cross. I have been wearing mine for about a year as well and love it. I am actually about to pick up another hat, just trying to figure out which one. would like something with just a little bit longer bill, or whatever you would call it on this type of hat.

They recently updated their Responder line with some camo, and I believe, a new FF themed cap. Check em out and thanks for the service bro-

I love the Shamrock peaky. It was my third scally cap from Boston Scally Co. I love the grey herringbone, the feel of it and it's very comfy. I love the green inner bill and the green shamrock on the back. It also looks really cool with the Irish rose pin on the side. It's warm for winter months... I also love the Boondock in black with the green and black check on the inner bill and the veritas aequitas inside from Boondock Saints movie and the shamrock on the back, however I wish the shamrock was more noticable, maybe in a green color but it's ok... these caps are so sturdy. I've had mine since last October I think and no issues. They fit really well, comfy and I've gotten many compliments on them. I just recently bought the blacktop single panel and I also love that one... I can't say anything negative about Boston Scally Co. I love their scally caps, pins and I have yet to purchase their clothing. I love all my pins and enjoy switching them per season. The colors go really well on the black caps especially. The green, red, orange, blue, purple rose pins especially look great on the black! I 'd like to get more from them... I prefer the 6 panel and the peaky styles more so than the single panel but the single is good too.

I've got two of their caps... the Repel and the Black Rock & Rogue Boondock. Both of them have center seams that are offset which bugs me a little, but overall, they're nice hats. I don't think they're quite worth the price they're going for, though.

Yeah, I've bought two of their caps, and both have the seams off-center. I threw them in the trash.

You've got a Tom Brady look going. Your hat modeling is hilarious. I just ordered the all black Kenmore as well and your review after a year is great. I'd rather not buy something made in China but it's practically impossible these days.

I get my flat caps and newsboys From a company in Poland that uses materials from Scotland and Ireland. They are very high quality wool such as Harris Tweed and Donegal Tweed which are naturally water resistant though not water proof. You can get good quality Irish caps from the Donegal area. I think being made and probably designed in China explains the odd duck's head shape of their signature cap. There are cap makers in Italy who make high quality caps, also using Harris Tweed. Also in England.

Been checking out their webpage for a few weeks now. Still haven't pulled the trigger on purchasing from them but I am close to doing it. I want 'The Boondock' and "The Dubliner". Had my eye on those for awhile now. I keep seeing mixed reviews. Some people are like "It's China crap, poor quality, you're insane to pay 50 bucks for a hat from China", Then I've seen people RAVE about how good the quality is and that it's worth the money. So I keep going back and forth about it. I think I will more than likely just order them and see for myself.

I don't like the fact that the sizes don't seem to fit the same even when they are marked the same size.. Also, two hats here and neither of them have a front center line that is truly in the "center". Even the error is different from hat to hat? These are not inexpensive hats....China needs to add some QC. Maybe if they weren't having slave labor do the work?

1) I have a big head. XL gave me a very lose fit. The M/L seems to fit better on new caps. My first cap was an XL and fit great. Not sure when the change happened but the newer caps seem a little bigger. 2) I've never washed mine. So... can't help there.

Boston Scally outsources to PRC “People Republic of China”. For $50 Id rather purchase a Mucros Weavers or Aran flat cap straight from Ireland. I get my scally caps on ‘weaversofireland’. From the SOURCE☘️

Yes. Just like most products, they are manufactured overseas. I love American made 🇺🇸 but in this case, I haven’t found anything style wise I like as much as Boston Scally. The look of the hat and the unique materials they use make it my personal choice. Same goes for phones. I’d prefer an American made cell phone, but there isn’t anything on the market that meets my needs and is American made. The Irish style hats are great, I really enjoyed them when I was in Ireland. But they have a distinct style and it’s not what I like.

It’s not 1990. China produces quality products. The best Stereo companies in the world use China now, in the knife industry, all the factories that used to produce knives for Sheridan companies now just make there own, better quality and more affordable. Made in China means nothing anymore
@EyesWideOpenPraiseYah3 жыл бұрын
Ahhh i agree with this to a point. There are some things that are made in china that are garbage but this hat looks really good so its just on who you have make it over there i suppose.

There are also many things made in the USA that are crap as well. No nation is full proof.
@dionk62823 жыл бұрын
You are right. The reason the vast majority of goods made in China is because of the awesome quality and inspections and nothing to do with it being rushed to be mass made, poor salary, and lack of skill. At the end of the day the workers in China take great pride in their art even though their workplace is probably also their home
@mykhhh49942 жыл бұрын
Nah for clothes it does matter, China is among the worst for waste water production and human rights/child labour plus the hats been shipped across the world. It cost $50 so could surely be made locally by craftsmen and turn a profit. I can get handmade wool/synthetic mix made in Scotland and Ireland for $20-$40 yeh there's shipping but somethings should be done right. If it's a $20 ball cap fair enough but it's meant to be genuine/proper

Sorry, bro. I had to "thumbs down" after you said you tried to get free product. My parents work in a niche retail field and "free influencers" are the literal worst. Loved the review otherwise, I'm super on the fence because of the uneven stitching. That would drive me bonkers I think.

Well after the fact, but a few comments. The variation, alignment and mistakes in stitching show inconsistency. Not mentioned, but of some note, is that the wool content is kinda like an extra-extra dry martini, where the hat is shown pictures of an unshorn sheep and that counts as wool content (10-20% - an absolute minimum and perhaps stretching the truth to call it tweed). That said, my flat cap in grey herringbone had no construction errors, fit well, and looks good. I’ll note I bought it off Amazon at a 20% discount but primarily for an easy return policy (I’ve read a number of complaints on that front with Boston Scally direct, but have no experience myself). I’m happy with mine and opted to keep it, but my general advice is you can get a 100% wool or linen version for around the same money - polyester is cheap, and even at a discount, it seems overpriced. I was originally sent an 8 panel version (package miss-marked). So I had a comparison. On mine, the front seam aligned centrally, no mistakes in construction, fit was just a hair tighter but that was fine. I preferred the single panel flat cap - one of the reasons to get the Boston Scally is the more unique styling they have for their 5, 6, and 8 panel caps. I’ll get another flat cap, but a 100% wool version from Hanna Hats or Biddy Murphy. I’m willing to spend a little more now that I know I like flat caps and that the styling suits me. Bottom line: Boston Scally might be worth a try, especially if you like the unique “dressed up baseball cap” styling of their 6 or 8 panel caps. But there might be better options out there.
