Iohan's bike is in Patagonia, but you probably won't see me on something similar unless I'm on a shorter trip. I like the versatility of my bike for crossing continents, as I can ride at 25km/h on the pavement (which happens a LOT more than it appears in my films). I once was on a road, an asphalt paved street in a high part of a city that half climbs up onto several hills, it was after a few days of heavy rainfall, in the morning but with a slight rain. As I left to cross the hill and cycle along for 140km it started seriously raining and as I was climbing the streets, suddenly water started rushing down. Literally in about 10 seconds it was a few centimeters deep around me and there were rocks and branches being rolled down in the water. I realized this is a flash flood happening right in front of my eyes so I just turned around and rushed down the hill in a race with the raging water behind.

ah I have question, your bike frame is aluminium right? can you feel the difference “in real world situation” between steel and aluminum? comfort wise
@Cyclingabout5 жыл бұрын
There is no discernable difference in comfort between steel and aluminium frames - it's either in people's heads, or there is another factor contributing to comfort. It takes more than 500N to vertically flex a steel or aluminium frame 1mm. In comparison, this is practically nothing compared to your rear tyre (10N to flex a few mm), seatpost (70N to flex 10mm on a carbon post) and seat (10N to flex a few mm, depending on its 'plushness', of course).
