And now we get to watch the grass grow...lovely huh?

Nice video. It's been 28 years, and I swear I could still recognize the smells of the mechanical grease and stale paint of the "House of Horror", or the Chlorine in the Flume water. I can still see the wood and metal traction pads that used to stop each log... then disappear into the water and release the log. The water, shimmering down the rubber conveyor belt as it dragged the logs up to the drop. Or the back end of the Flume where the Skyliner would do 'round it's turn back... above.

FLjock01 The just started using chlorinated water in the 90S because before that - they were using filtered fresh seawater, which had no chlorine except the seawater smell and color.

I've been on a few flumes and it seems like the beginnings and lifthills are the only places where there is a conveyor belt, normally there's a small drop at the beginning that makes the flume log speed up a little.

OMG the view, the park looked so big because it stretched out all the way to the parking lot in the back.

I see what they did with the Sky Diver in the winter, or before winter time. They removed the cars & end V sweeps, just leaving the rest of the ride & drive rim up, pretty neat. Like others here, wished it would ( the park ) make a comeback some day!

Man this is a nice video. It's the only one that actually shows one on the ride. I'm still waiting for the jackpot of one actually riding it all the way through. I miss that ride so much, because there's no other flume like it and I've been on and seen many log flumes. But I did create a song called "The Flume (In Memory of Rocky Point" that actually has the sounds of the flume. If you wish to add it to this video cool. The name of the label is Rogue Music. Just google or Itune it.

@brazillo19 I never took my camera on the Flume ride, it would have gotten soaked and there is no way I could have held onto it during the last big drop. But I agree it would have been cool to have a video of that ride.

@Shockedbywater I guess so back then. The cameras used today are much smaller, and more manageable, and I've seen several videos of people riding log flumes going down and getting wet.

Yeah, my stepdad said that camcorders used to be huge and ran on VHS Tapes then started getting smaller but still ran on VHS, by the early 2000s, camcorders ran on DVDs and were still getting smaller. Now camcorders are in 4K and run on Memory Cards. I still use a 360p camera to this day and I ain't getting a new camera.
