Those are Dendrite snowflakes. They occur with warmer moist air. When you have dry, cold air you have crystals. I used to be involved in snowflake studies in the late 80's to mid 90's. Thank you so much for the beautiful walk. Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays. May you have a much better 2025. 😊😊❤❤

That's so cool, JoAnne!! I used to love showing my students dendrite crystal formation in super saturated solutions when I was teaching in the public school classroom - they were fascinated with how quickly the crystals would grow! :) Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you, too! 😊

Being an Aussie (whose experience of snow is extremely limited and I’ve never actually experienced it “snowing”) I never realised before that snowflakes like that could be seen - I just assumed those shapes were seen through a microscope 😂 This has been a lovely video Connie, best wishes, Jackie

Thank you for your walk in the snow. Never realized that those snowflakes can be seen by the naked eye!!! I always thought that they could only be seen under a microscope. I live in a tropical climate and we don't get snow. I also remembered another walk you made where you showed some red mushrooms - again, I didn't know that those were real!!! Thank you for sharing ❤

I'm in the US CT. We share similar properties, one side of ours borders the Housatonic River. We are indeed blessed.The snowflakes, nature's magic. Everything you are detailing is inspiring. Meery xmas & happy New Year to you also Connie. You have an amazing part of the world to live in it is gorgeous. That view is so wonderfully seasonal. We don't get snow here in the uk very often. So its lovely to have it vicariously. Our garden does have lots of bird feeders for all the wildlife., we get foxes and hedgehogs too. I think a lot of people have suffered one way or another this year and so am praying 2025 will be better. God Bless you Connie and look forward to seeing next years colouring.
