I can understand why a female would want to compete with a man. Most the time it is because they were not protected from the men in their lives. I remember being young and feeling like I can fight a boy in high school if I needed to defend myself. I didn’t want to be perceived as weak and if I needed to “prove” that I can defend myself I would be tough enough to do so. It comes from the wounded child perspective. Now as a grown woman I do not find the need to want to fight a man or protect myself from a man. But I’ve also done the work and understand the man’s protective role and his ability to love a woman whole heartily but that comes from learning to love one self first. We are not here to compete with one another but we are here to enhance each others God given gifts. People have to address their traumas so that they can stop being tough and angry with the world. ❤🙏🏽

👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾I was that girl too growing up. The difference was, I was taught by my father and uncles. Witnessing the domestic violence against family members further solidified in me to never be afraid to defend myself against a man. Although in reality, I know I can never physically beat a man. I still carry that teaching in me. Now at 54, I will refercto intellectually (street/book) outsmarting before ever thinking of challenging a man. If it ever came to a physical altercation. I'd leave some evidence that I tried. Lol!

I was at the supermarket the other day and a customer (a man) was going back and forth with the cashier (a woman). The woman got up and said "who you talking to?" "wassup?" and came from behind the register to fight him. The security guard held her back though. I was scared when she got up and started walking towards him. I agree with you 100% on this. I wrote a paper on how I felt about the feminist movement. I agree with it when it comes to equal rights with jobs, respect. etc. But I feel like some women equate this equality with literally trying to be a man and sizing one up. Like you said, we are different and it's important that we respect those differences. It doesn't make us less capable if we can't do what a man does biologically or sexually. For example, a grown boy sleeping around is ok, but a woman (I get that this is a double standard) doing it is not. However, from a hygiene and biological perspective, women are not made to sleep around and our bodies are not made for casual sex. We'll catch something a lot faster than a man, feel the symptoms a lot faster, and have a broken heart.

I’m not sure why this is being presented as though there is some epidemic of women running up on men. You yourself say a woman is assaulted by a man every 9 seconds. Why aren’t men addressing the men who do these foul acts? Even if claressa did seriously challenge a male boxer (which I don’t believe she did) to expand her behavior out to all women and address all women is ridiculous.
