I used to chase men. One day I was running, with the intention of getting super skinny so a particular guy might be more interested in me (and I was pursuing him in other ways too), when I heard this voice say, "let them chase you". And I believe it was the voice of God. I stopped dead in my tracks and thought, "men would chase me??" I was confused as to why a man would chase me because my self-esteem was so low. Two babies to two different men later, and I am a single Mother who dated bums, clowns, and bullies. I am finally listening to the words I should have listened to long ago, "let them chase you". Instead of focusing on a particular man I am focusing on God and I am holding fast to accepting nothing less than a man of God who truly loves me and my daughter's. I have also realised the man I marry will love me for my heart much more than my appearance.

The men in my age group will pursue us but the moment we show interest they disappear so I thought I had to act uninterested to keep them, but it wasn’t fair to me because I couldn’t be myself. So I think those type of men are just dating for the sport to get validation from us to make them feel good & continue looking for the next woman to boost their ego. I think it’s emotionally abusive because my feelings are invested because I like the guy and he’s using my emotions to fill this insatiable void that’s causing him to do this to so many women. So now I know if me showing him interest turns him off to the point he’s ghosting me then he isn’t for me to begin with. I need to be with a man who is emotionally mature to receive love & not take advantage of it for selfish reasons.
@reginayfavors3 жыл бұрын
These are the men looking for validation in the same way that women want to be affirmed and validated. Basically, these are feminine men because they are positioning themselves as women/feminine to receive what women should receive. I really needed to hear this… I found myself falling into the trap of going after men when they truly didn’t want me in the first place. They love the idea that I had all the traits of a wife… I cook, I keep a clean house, I don’t have kids, I can sew… but they don’t find it necessary to commit to me. I have to take it back to God and remember my worth.

There is no reason women should wait for a man to confess his attraction to her first if she wants a partner to eventually be married to. Women shouldn’t need to wait for a man to propose marriage. Women don’t need to risk losing the fulfillment of that desire more than men. Desire for that relationship is equally wanted by both genders. One gender should passionately want to pursue the other mutually or marital intimacy that sexual desire is made for will be difficult. Sexual desire is the most passionate feeling anyone can have for another person.

@@ericbreaux6124 you know that's true what you said but actually men are designed to pursue women. God made him that way I want to go against and pursue other things, like each other as in other men it interferes with the delicate balance I believe. There's a very Victorian kind of a notion that women have to wait to be pursued and and in other cultures where marriages are arranged from the time of birth, and people meet at the altar and having never known each other Med each other become friends those kind of situations where people adjust thrust together to make a go of it used to be the norm. Then time to change Free Will has coming to the Forefront of decision-making for relationships and pursuit and feminism has certainly played into this relationship ideal women will go after a man if they want them!

Yes! My father was working in a shoe store when my mom came in to get some heels. He made sure he was going to be her shoe sales person. When he put the heel on her foot and she looked at him, he knew she was going to be his princess forever. They were young. He worked two jobs and she was dating the governor's son. My father said he earned every date and worked just as hard for her as he did his two jobs. He won her. They were married all their lives. Three children later, my mother and father both taught us what gentlemen do and what ladies do. They were amazing role models and lifelong blessings as a family. My boyfriends loved my mother. My father never stopped working for her and my brothers learned to treat their wives like gold. They married well and are still married with children.

Most men are visual, so they like cute, pretty, someone who looks good to them and well built. Most like a sweet, funny, intelligent personality as well as supportive. If a woman has this there are men who will pursue. Not all men, but most want the above. Support and respect and look at the man with a true heart but a smart mind, that means a lot. Just my two cents.

@@brandonayyye3487 I would like to know your definition of effort in this context. What the OP is referring to is the energy given by a lot of men these days is that a woman initiate and pursue. MY definition of effort in this context means that on the part of a woman; we let you know if we're interested and engage with you accordingly. I take your response to mean a woman should initiate. If a woman pursues a man she's operating in masculine energy. You have to decide whether you want a woman that moves in masculine energy or feminine energy? Not everyone "fits" the traditional gender or gender roles. We are fortunately getting away from gender roles. The LGBTQ community is the group pushing the most against gender roles as now the genders are blending and that means less gender roles. I advocate feminism, which is a misnomer as intelligent, rational, intellectual, transhumanist and futurist males also can be feminist. And btw, bowing down on one knee isn't necessary to propose. My husband didn't propose. Due to my disability I was unable to work so it unfortunately was up to him to decide when and if he would marry me. We simply talked about it and set a date.

I might not learn from my mom or my dad or in school but I’m thankful that there are people like you that teach us the things that we were not taught for many reasons. I didn’t have a strong father figure growing up to have these kinds of father daughter talks, then at 10 my parents got divorced and my mom was too busy doing 3 jobs to care for her 2 kids. She was a masculine strong mother-father figure to me that I admired for years. My mother wasn’t aware of all the internal struggles I have growing up and how much they influenced me as an adult. I have low self esteem and believed I wasn’t good enough therefore no guys/men pursued me. Then when I hit 30’s I face pressure from the social standards, from the relatives, friends everyone that think I’m about to “expire” and I believed it. I believed I run out of time. I believed in the girl friends that encouraged “girl go put yourself out there, go get what you want, don’t wait for the men to pursue you etc...” so in a year I chased after 4 men and my heart got sicker and sicker. I dated a married man, forgot who I’m and my soul and destroyed my moral, then relentlessly went after a man that told me in my face that he doesn’t want a relationship with me and I cried in front of him, then threw myself at a man that took advantage of me sexually and said he can’t be with me, and another one that didn’t want a relationship with me but let me be with him anyways because he was lonely after separated from his ex and then dumped me for someone else. It was a year of heartbreak and sickness. I was sick to my soul. Everything you said in the video happened to me and I feel it like it was yesterday. Even after that when I met a better man who treated me a little better, he was too damaged to commit for long term relationship and ran away too. And yes I felt to my lowest. I invested in him so much, pour my heart out, got too hopeful and desperate to be finally married to a good man but it turned out I was chasing once again. Whatever the real reasons he left, doesn’t matter anymore. I have work to do with myself. And today I say screw the social standard and the pressure and the age deadline bs, I’m turning my life around. I’m not living in the cloud anymore.

@@crownedmelaninqueen typically telling a woman about your emotions is a turn off for them, and if he isn’t texting back it should be because he’s working on the things that make him attractive to you in the first place; his body, his job, his goals and hobbies. I should also be apart of his world , but not his whole world. I’m not even expecting to talk everyday. Every other day to two days is fine. It’s the 5 days of silence but even in the military it could be an email sent explaining a lock down .Essentially there are no excuses, I’d love when he can say how he feels or send a kissy face emoji. There isn't a right thing about patriarchy when women were getting a beating from their husbands/boyfriends. Or when men should always treat women dinner and pay every bill. This isn't right either. If we want a great society with true equality feminism is the only way. Feminism is equal rights equal responsibilities.
