@@jothompson1903 Oh dear thank you, that brings me to tears.. “Wherever two or more of you are gathered in His name there is love” I hope my baby comes back to me soon . In the name of Jesus Holy and precious name. She has had so many losses ; me to mental illness, her daddy took his own life in a very brutal way in the same time her longtime boyfriend, her grandparents whom she adored, her dog , my abusive boyfriend whom slapped her hands and kicked her in her lower back and told her not to tell me or else. All of this brought me back to my Catholic faith but she is adamant about her dad’s prodistant beliefs. She’s away at school and has blocked my calls. It’s too far for me to visit. I love her so very much, since I saw her beautiful face I knew she was a Gift from God. I failed at these teenage years but I was a good mother. Thank you for your much needed prayers. 💕🙏🌹

Wow, this is just what I needed to hear. I struggle from the exact same problem. I tend to think I’m right about most things and that my opinion is most important. It took me all these years to only recently understand that PRIDE is my predominant fault. I have always loved Padre Pio..I will pray for his intercession to help me overcome this.🙏

I continue to ask you my dear friends to please remember our blessed lady each day for a few moments and pray to her meditating on the seven sorrows that pierced her most pure heart during her life on earth, this prayer is most powerful and brings great comfort to both our white lady of peace and also her blessed son Jesus and many graces are obtained from this powerful prayer. I also ask you my dear friends to please remember our blessed saviour Jesus for a few moments each day and pray to him remembering his agonising on the Mount of olives where he shed tears for us, sweat blood and where his prayer flowed in trembling agony from his heart so pure and divine. I like St Augustine’s quote! I have to remember that. That’s a great story. My thoughts on leaving parents who cannot take care of themselves to just work on our own spiritual life. My saintly director said , no. If our parents have no other means it is part of the 4 th commandment in honoring our parents. All my brothers and sisters left and got married. My Mother could not manage alone. My director a monk and a trained psychiatrist said, his order had sent professed monks home to care for ill parents to return when it was Gods will. Families and extended families and neighbors were much closer in the first half of the 20th century, but not so today, I am sorry to say. Now families send their parents to old age homes, and most are not happy there.

Pride is a challenging vice to overcome. Sometimes, in situations of early child abuse there is rebellion and resistance by the child to anything contrary to his or her opinion. Maybe it’s a survival instinct but the earlier the trauma the stronger the rebellion. There is also an inability to trust others. It’s a very lonely existence. Thu, like all vices can be overcome but it is an extremely challenging task.

One more thing. In cases of extreme parental discipline and deficit of outward parental love for the child, the rebellion develops within the child and can stay with them for their entire life.

Dedicating yourself to religious life may have been a viable option in 1947 for Catholics, but that certainly wouldn't be the case today. What did the Sister at the Assisi convent think of the pagan Dalai Lama putting a Buddha statue on the tabernacle at Assisi? That's an abomination that God detests. That act puts Jesus Christ who is God on the same level as the devil Buddha. By the way, the Dalai Lama also teaches that he's God. How's that for an example of pride? Who would join the Vatican II sect? That's a non- Catholic cult. Definitely not Padre Pio.

BUT with all due respect, the sin of pride is relative to the truth. If you have the truth in your heart, should you not stubbornly hold on to that truth? Such as Christ Jesus is the Son of God, who died for our sins? Pride seems to be wrong simply when our beliefs are wrong. And I suppose, the way we express our true beliefs. I am sure Padre Pio was considered proud when he would not renounce the truth of his Heavenly gifts, for example.

Many think that charitable work is more important than prayer. This is an error. When we pray we ask our Father the All Powerful God to help us and others, and He can doing anything, we only have to cooperate. Like the farmer planting crops, we till the soil and sow the seed but God makes it grow, He sends the sun and rain, something we are incapable of doing. When we humbly pray we admit our need for God´s help and admit our own weakness, He also tells us how we can cooperate with Him but prayer is the way.
