Many know the story of Jesus and the woman taken in adultery in John 8. But there is so much more to the story than Jesus' challenge, "He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone..." Join Pastor James Knox as he describes the superior knowledge, righteousness, compassion and power of Jesus Christ in this passage.
Sermon preached at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Greenville, SC in December 2018.

Sometimes the loudest person who yells amen is the greatest sinner. A repentant sinner rejoiceth in humility. I used to be impressed by those kind of people, not anymore.

This passage (John 7:53-8:11) is not in the oldest and most reliable Manuscripts. Unfortunately, most preachers are aware of this. Sad that more pastors haven’t studied the Scriptures more closely.

Unfortunately you are not correct. Without being rude please tell us what is the “most reliable” scripture. Again we do not wish to offend you but you must be careful in correcting the scripture as there are warnings not to do so. Intentionally or not this practice has caused many to question and doubt God’s word. This has been going on since the garden of Eden. Genesis 3:1 KJV Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? We have several studies on the word of God, the many translations and we believe the KJV is the perfect word of God for the ENGLISH speaking people. God’s word is pure! Where is it? It can’t be right in 4 different places or 10 different translations. They don’t match. Psalm 12:6-7 The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. [7] Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever. Psalm 12:6-7 says Gods word IS pure. Do we believe this verse? We do. The verse goes on to say that the Lord will keep them. Forever! We have NO faith in the translators. We have no faith in King James We have no faith in the penmen to keep the pure word of God. We do believe God did keep his pure word and that for the English speaking people is the Authorized King James Version. 1 Peter 1:23 KJV Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. Read the verse slowly the “incorruptible word of God. If God said it’s incorruptible where is it? We understand that 200 different versions can cause confusion but we believe if research and study is done it’s clear what all other versions do is correct, delete and replace key words and very important doctrines. We do not wish to debate with you and I thought; I should not reply. But others read the comments and we do not want to ignore comments when others may be weakened in the faith if they read that the scripture that was read was “not correct” We also want to be clear that using the incorrect version doesn’t mean someone is saved or if they use the King James it means one is saved. Hopefully this will be received in the spirit in which it is intended as we do not wish to insult or offend you but we also do not want to offend God when he says his word is perfect by just going along with someone casting doubt upon it. @@JamesWKnoxSermons Those who study the original manuscripts explain that there are 8 reasons why my comment is correct. Please check a little further. Blessings

You do not have nor does anyone have the “original”‘manuscripts. Who has seen the original manuscripts? We have had the “original manuscripts” argument probably 1000+ times throughout the years. It is probably the top 5 arguments we hear. It doesn’t hold up. You have never seen the original manuscripts. As there was not an 1 “original”’ book of manuscripts. You have read some book or online article that told you this, or possibly learned this in a seminary (unfortunately) You choose to believe that report (of men) more than what the Bible says! Ps 12 :6-7. Hopefully you can see this someday! And as I often say we will not go back and forth on this forum. We won’t debate. But we do have other platforms we could direct you to if you wish to discuss further? Or if you want more information and a counter argument. You can ask questions on this forum the reasoning behind our stance. Just let us know. Good Day! CJ

@@JamesWKnoxSermons Unfortunately, many folks, including some preachers I know, claim because they read the KJV, they think are reading “real” manuscripts of the Bible. The oldest, most reliable do NOT have this account from John in them. Preach on.
@JamesWKnoxSermons
@JamesWKnoxSermons 8 ай бұрын
Anyone who says they are reading from the original manuscripts are confused, misinformed or just repeating what they were taught. The latter is the typical reason. As I do not think people intentionally try to deceive people. But they do want you to trust their intelligence and their study. But go and look at what many of the “translators” believed. Just research Wescott and Hort believed, as they were translators of the text in-which many versions derive from. I would not want to attend church with them… No man or museum has the original. May I ask what version you use? And do you believe it is perfect? If we take your premise and say there is a better translation on this passage, this can be done likely with every verse. What do you do when the scripture says Jesus is the way the truth and the life? And someone says there is a better more accurate translation? See this cycle can go on for ever and infact often does these days. These days if you witness to someone and use a scripture and I show them John 3 where Jesus said “ ye must be born again” they often say “that’s not what my version says” or they say that’s your interpretation, or they say that’s not the best translation. As they have been taught by churches and “Christians” that the word is corrupted. Instead of dealing with the verse they excuse it away by diminishing the Word of God. CJ

The story of the woman taken in adultery doesn’t appear in the earliest manuscripts, it was added far later, these self serving clergy know this, but they still preach it from the pulpit. They’ve got to keep that income stream flowing.
@JamesWKnoxSermons
@JamesWKnoxSermons 9 ай бұрын
What are the earliest manuscripts? Have you seen these manuscripts? Or are you trusting what you heard or read on the internet? For what it’s worth I don’t recommend questioning Gods word. Gen 3:1 or you will be doing what that serpent did in the garden. Income stream? We don’t pass an offering plate. If someone would like to give they can. But that is between them and God. CJ
