Very interesting presentation!! I really enjoyed it and the presenter. I only have one comment, and that is that catching on fire was NOT the second cause of death for women. Unfortunately that is a common misconception. I do living history and wear long petticoats, and multiple skirts, and there are techniques that you employ to avoid your skirts from getting into a fire. One technique is that your skirts don’t usually reach the ground, they are usually ankle length. You also tuck them in between your legs. The common causes of death in 18th century was more along the lines of various diseases, cancers, or shortages of food for backcountry folk. I just wanted to comment to clear that up as that is a very common myth floating around.

ALSO, women wore natural fabrics like wool and linen. Those fabrics tend to singe rather than catching completely on fire
