"It is the choice of principles, that the tough- that's the tough part. ...And that is a choice that is made, among other things, simply on the basis of fact! You have to know how it would work out one way, how it would work out another way. ...And make a choice based on those predictions and on what experience teaches us from the past."

Wonderful talk. Just finished The Decameron for the second time: the first was decades ago. I'm old now and appreciated it in deeper ways - and loved it before.

You people are obsessed with forcing sex on children. This book is full of lies. White was convicted of manslaughter for the deaths of Milk and Moscone. White served five years of a seven-year prison sentence. Less than two years after his release, he returned to San Francisco, and later died by suicide. He killed them not because of gay rights but because he was fired and wanted to keep his job. The two things are completely unrelated. White had been serving Milk’s mission. You are liars.

The narration is wonderful, but I prefer to view the story during the narration the entire time rather than the narrator holding the book.

Very interesting presentation!! I really enjoyed it and the presenter. I only have one comment, and that is that catching on fire was NOT the second cause of death for women. Unfortunately that is a common misconception. I do living history and wear long petticoats, and multiple skirts, and there are techniques that you employ to avoid your skirts from getting into a fire. One technique is that your skirts don’t usually reach the ground, they are usually ankle length. You also tuck them in between your legs. The common causes of death in 18th century was more along the lines of various diseases, cancers, or shortages of food for backcountry folk. I just wanted to comment to clear that up as that is a very common myth floating around.

ALSO, women wore natural fabrics like wool and linen. Those fabrics tend to singe rather than catching completely on fire

The historical and biblical evidence of Jesus' genetics and physical appearance is so overwhelming, these attempts are laughable. The black racial groups would not know Jesus existed if it weren't for the white racial group. Christianity is so white in origin; how could anyone debate the fact whites were always the Christians? Otherwise, you must ignore the entire history of biblical and secular record. That's called revisionism. All eye witnesses during the time of Jesus also perfectly describe a white male. The descendants of Isaac or Isaac's Sons and it is pronounced, Saxons in English. Saxons are the sons of Isaac. Where were the blacks when the Gospel was being taught to the world by white missionaries? They were on the African continent and they did not know anything about Jesus.

As far as I’m concerned, Frederick and Thomas Paine did more for our country then the next 100 people combined. All it takes is sparking an idea in the right bit of tinder to change the world. Rest easy Frederick!

People that have problem with white European Jesus should as well have problem with Ethiopian or black and Chinese or asian Jesus. If not they are just spouting antiwhitism. Jesus was/is Levantine Semite so he look like today average Levantine Arab.

Hearing the part about the brief moments Frederick had with his mother is heartbreaking. I can only think about the thousands of people with similar yet untold experiences. Slavery makes me so mad. Albeit we have made a lot of progress for people since frederick's time, prejudiceism is still very much at large in this country

Well, the guy quoted at 2:44 is, as I understand, a writer for Sports Illustrated magazine, and I think HE should stick to remarking on SUPER JOCK business and just keep HIS mitts OFF the topics of Archaeology, geography, ethnicity, and sociology because HE is not qualified to talk about THAT stuff.

Wow!! Wherever Jeffrey speaks I want to be there! He is riveting and sharp. Dan Webster is my 1st cousin (6 generations removed). The ONLY thing I hope Jeffrey adds in future talks on this subject is that remember it was Webster’s support of the 1850 Fugitive Slave Act that led a little woman named Harriett Beecher Stowe to publish “Uncle Tom’s Cabin.”

hhmmm... 🧐🤔🤨I paused at the 33:36 min. mark to question whether social media, such as Tik Tok, Facebook, etc. was designed to give us an "illusion" of Freedom of Speech, while Corporate giants monitor our "volunteer" personal information, collect it and "Sell it" for profit, to not only keep us distracted but also allow politicians to circumvent their duties to uphold our Constitutional Rights. And there are dangers to sharing personal medical information while patents are being submitted at a rapid rate, without much government oversight... Thank GOD for the Supreme Court!!!

Jefferson passed laws prohibiting slavery, his slaves were family, he educated them, they had jobs like by today's standards, he saved them from brutal slave traders. and further advocated against slavery. I'm the great granddaughter of Thomas Jefferson I, who is the Grandfather of President Jefferson. Jefferson I owned all of the lands that were inherited. From what I've read on the DNA results are that it proved they are Jeffersons, but it did not prove it was President Jefferson's line, it could be his Brother. Martha Jefferson Goode and Colonel Bennett Goode are my Grandparents. We welcome all cousins in this lineage and so glad that we have them all.
