a grand piano is a grand piano, but a Bosendorfer, now that's a masterpiece.

Yes, my dear James, finally another posting from you ... You seem to have been very busy lately because your posts and reports from renowned piano makers are becoming increasingly rare. But this time you picked a really beautiful instrument from Bösendorfer, the sound is simply stunning and the rosewood finish is just fantastic. The instruments from the era around the turn of the century all have their very own charm and all sound somehow better than modern instruments. Here in Germany there is a nice saying on this subject: "The older the violin 🎻 the more beautiful its sound". But now something else, when you tested the B212 from C. BECHSTEIN promised that there will finally be a test of the big D282 from C. BECHSTEIN in the near future, I'm really curious and nervous about this test, I can hardly do it wait until you have this dream of a grand piano under your very talented fingers and describe your positive experiences and impressions to all of us, I already have goose bumps all over my body when I only think of your euphoria about C. BECHSTEIN musical instruments.

Yes, I really want to play a D282, and if I get the chance I will absolutely make a video on it, I imagine they must be astounding instruments. I have been very busy lately, but expect videos to be coming back! :D

James, I've recently bought a 1945 Steinway M from Roger's, and it's an incredibly sounding piano. I'm a jazz pianist and love the warm, complex and rich sound of those gems. Roger and Carol are amazing.

Sounds gorgeous. Well known company indeed. I'm super happy and privileged to own a 1979 Bösendorfer myself which I will have the hammers and strings replaced next year, that will make it sound so much better then it does already :)

Oh, that will make it sound very nice!

Always gorgeous a bösendorfer. Although this one sounds just that tiny but different than a couple of others you played it is still very pleasant to listen to. I like it that you also show the specialities if the piano. Beautiful. By the way. Nice to hear you playing again. Missed you. Quite busy I presumed. In any case I hope everything is going well. Thank you for sharing and playing.

My audio setup cannot replicate the sound your ears were immersed in. Relying on imagination to extrapolate the joy one must get from playing such a beautiful instrument.

James, A beautifully balanced tone. It really lends itself to subtle changes. So, good to see you back in the playing mode. Will your road series take a hiatus in the winter or continue? I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Rik Spector

Fell in love with the color. The sound recording somehow didn't convey over my mobile phone speakers. Also I am thinking of buying a Roland 90x Any reason I shud not? I am sitting on 4000 usd. And will consider buying external speakers / amps And such depending on what's left over after buying a keyboard

Hello, James. Could you please let us know if if kawai MP12 is launching anytime soon. Is it worth waiting or should I buy a MP11SE itself. Also a better speaker, and stand for MP11SE.

What is the piece you played on it? I keep looking around for it, never found it. Big fan btw.

Assuming you mean the first piece, it's Eduard Schutt's Cavatine.

Hey James, I've always found your reviews to be great. Could you perhaps make a review of the Kawai CN series(especially the cn39)? That would be extremely helpful.😀😄

what is it that makes this one sound so "old"? Is it slightly detuned? High notes sound amazing(ly different than on for example my Schimmel grand piano)

Good evening sir, thank you for another wonderful video! I am the owner of a Roland JV-1080 and I was just curious to ask if you might do a review on the 'Yamaha Motif ES'? Word on the street is the piano sounds are pretty amazing. Your thoughts and feedback are great. Thank you in advance!

Why do the lower case 'e' and 'r' in the embossed name look the same?
@heinundpiet3 жыл бұрын
Its an old font called fraktur or fractura (or a variant of fractura) developed around the end of the 15th century. From mid 16th century to mid 20th century the most commen block letter (or so called blackletter) font (for book printing) in german speaking countries. If you look exacly, ‘e‘ and ‘r' don't look totaly the same . The 'r' has a smale line to the left at the top. In fractura many letters can be mistaken with letters in modern fonts, because they seams to look simular to letters in modern fonts but in fact are different letters. And if you not know the factura font its hard to mostly impossible to read a text writen in factura. So as you mistake 'e' and 'r'.

Lovely restore...now the elephant in the room question that I can't believe no one else asked so far: How much? $$$$. I know I can't afford it but I'm from NJ, so we always want to know what stuff costs (I hate This Old House, they never talk price when they show the home rebuilds!).
