Great info The way we “bag” the hands and basically when they arrive in the OR the bags are barely hanging on I would hate to think somebody would be convicted on that practice

thanks for the information. In India, senior professors keep repeatedly asking about GSR(gunshot residue) as if these tests are a "litmus" test.

Yes, one thing I have noticed is that forensic medicine in other areas of the world is a little behind where the USA is. I suspect that’s because we have so many murders here (especially with guns). For instance, in a regular year I have more gunshot wound deaths in 1 month than most countries have in an entire calendar year.

@@knifeafterdeath.drwolfe Agreed, doctor! In my three years of experience in forensic, I have encountered only about 5-10 cases of gunshot violence. However, I have performed many more autopsies involving stabbings, cut throats, strangulations etc. Once again, thank you for all the educational content you share on KZbin. It's incredibly informative.

@@fearurnightmare Over here we have a fair amount of stabbing but really hardly ever see a cut throat, maybe 1 case per year or less. Strangulations are not very common here but we do have a couple per year. By the way, I teach at Substack, it’s called drdarinwolfe. I have both free posts and paid posts. I cover all topics forensic and surgical pathology.
