Sad to say that in every drama there is always that dragging scenes/episodes in which Skip button is indeed very useful. Ashes of Love season 2, without Yang Zi and Deng Lun it won’t be the same excitement for me. I say what’s the point of watching without the original cast. Some of us wants to see the continuation of Jinmi and Xufeng’s Love and how they would face the challenges that comes between them. When they fell in love in Season 1, they were separated most of the time. We never really saw how they lived their lives together up to the point when they had their son. All we saw was they met in the mortal world and then there was the seven year old son. It would have been nice to see how they spent those years together.

Yang zi and Deng Lung Forever! Im their forever fan, they made my heart believe in Love again. I just love love love them, even though i dont understand their dialogue (super thanks to subtitle) i felt every action and emotion they portrayed in their character. AOL is the best i have seen.

Guardian was a succeed because of their plot other than romance and chemistry between leads. You can see how much they care for each other. However Guardian does also include a female interest towards one of the male character. This is what differentiate Guardian and The Untamed imo. The untamed focuses heavily on 2 main characters' relationships towards one another without any involvement of any other characters in their relationship (no love triangle all that). Their love (I will not call it bromance) was a slow build. It was hinted throughout the series and it was up to the audience what to make of it. Plus praise to both leads for playing it well. The drama series can be considered as Shounen Ai. So from now on if any other production wants to adapt a bl novel without breaking any censorship they can refer to The Untamed.

I love everything in Ashes of Love season 1 from the main characters which was portrayed by Deng Lun and Yang Zi, the settings, the flow of the story especially the director of course. All the awards the movie acquired rightfully deserved by the whole team. I'm really looking forward for a season 2 of Ashes of Love with the main characters as the lead stars! Marcus I guess you are not familiar with the novel the untamed is based on 😃 the romance in the book really only starts near the end of the book. The untamed in the other hand, hints on the 2 leads feelings to each other very early on, as in we can see they're devoted to each other instead of the somewhat vague one sided feeling like in the book. About flying phoenix, I heard people talking about how the story of the book is just basically...rape and such (heavy on the sexual stuff)? Part of what makes guardian and the untamed succeed is because of the strong plot outside of the loveline between the 2 leads. Kinda curious how they will modify flying phoenix story, that is if the drama is real hahaha

Definitely at least the first 10 episodes should start with Xu Feng & Jin Mi then their son and other story afterwards. I don’t think they should called it Ashes of Love if Deng Lun & Yang Zi are not returning to season 2, these two has made Ashes of Love a worldwide success. Without their excellent and heartfelt performances as Xu Feng & Jin Mi, the series would not enjoy the same reception it received worldwide .

I need a Fox Fairy and Yanyou spin-off, and a happy ending for Runyu. Jinmi and Xufeng's story is already complete, so we don't need anymore drama with them. And I don't know about you guys, but I am not a fan of the assistant Runyu has as his love interest. She is obsessed with him but he never shows much affection towards her. And yet she persists, much like a fanatic. She never tried to steer him in the right direction either, especially when his mind is broken and vulnerable. Instead, she became so loyal that she was willing to go to the dark side as long as she was still with him. She became his enabler as she actually helped in keeping Jinmi under house arrest or tricking her, among other crimes. She was willing to be his slave, so she never ended up having much of a say as to what was going on around her. So I really hope that the show never makes Runyu fall for her!

Not sure how i feel about Ashes of Love season 2. Don't get me wrong, I LOVED it a lot more than i expected and rewatched it 4 times. However, hearing that they won't be in season 2 is disappointing bc i love their story in the drama and ofc their chemistry. I don't think I would like it as much even if they made cameo appearances or continued to play the parents bc that would be unfamiliar to me. So, can't really say I'm all that looking forward to S2 but Ashes of Love is my fav fantasy drama as of right now :)

We the devoted fans of the novel love The untamed becoz almost everything has been exactly shown in the drama without alterations from the novel..yes the big alteration is they changed lovers to friends but that's not an issue becoz we love them both just so much...Moreover in the novel the romance actually starts after 100 chapters towards the end of the novel n the drama just ends at the point where wei ying realizes his love for lanzhan....so it doesnt bother us...bcoz this novel not only focuses on romantic relation, it's a masterpiece depicting about family, friendship, love, sacrifices,tragedy, forgiveness,kinship, loyalty,adventures & inspiration of the young cultivators in helping the world which is all shown in the drama...so, the drama indeed remained very much loyal to the novel❤

"...changing the relationship from gay to brotherhood is a pretty big deviation..." Let me just say something as a BL fan. The romance and the fact that they're both male are only the surface of why BL fans love BL. Yes, we like seeing hot guys with hot guys. But, we love BL because of the devotions, loyalty, connections, and relationship depths between the two main characters. So, when adaption change bromance into brohood, it's really not that big of a deviation. As long as everything remains the same and loyal to the work they're based on. We love strong bonds that transcends the shallow boundaries of fleeting emotions. If any adaption is unable to tell a clean likeable version of a BL novel with just as much thoughts, then please PD and investors, just don't even try. 😔 This is one reason why The Untamed is so successful while others had failed. The Untamed is as faithful as it can be to the novel with all the regulations it have to follow. The drama had even make some moments even more memorable and characters likable. It did not tries, although rumored and shot down before it manifest in the end product, throw in a random female love interest or distraction, just because. The Untamed casts choice also contributed to the success of the drama. Chemistry is on point on and off screen. 👍 It's very important that the chemistry is carried through to the viewers. This also shows how well the producers and directors understand the original work and their target audience. As for AOL, I honestly would preferred a spin-off about the second male lead. Ryunyu deserved happiness too. 😢 I honestly never watch any season 2 of a drama that just follows the story of the kid. 😒 Why? Cause I have no attachments to the kid.

The Untamed doesn't change the gay to "brotherhood" (in which is a platonic term rather than romantic one). It change the relationship between them from "lovers" to "more than friends, less than lovers". And it's still pretty clear that the feelings they have for each other is in romantic scale although they hold back when it comes to stating it to each other explicitly.

As for the assurance that they have romantic feelings for each other without saying it in the drama. When you take a bromance and remove the obvious romance part, but still follow the source material, you're going to have these moments of obvious interest where actions may speaks louder than words. However, without referencing the source material for the romantic motives and genre, while understanding the direction the producer try to tell, is the drama not allowed to be called a brotherhood journey? You say is pretty clear that it's romantic. But, that's your interpretation and/or knowledged of the source material. The drama may have a lot of hint, but they didn't outright label the bond. So, must the word brotherhood and bond be automatically categorised to whether the love is platonic or romantic? Can't we enjoy the bonds in the drama as that of soulmate without questioning the motives?

What a catchy heading, Ashes of love season 2 😘 For those who appreciate the story of Ashes of love without looking at the actors would want to watch the continuation of this world, just like Ten miles of peach blossom. Ofc we would love to have a small cameo from the original cast, if not, I'm OK with that, I love that world, and the fantasy that lives within. So I'm happy to revisit that place, as long as the story is able to keep me interested, no point in having a beautiful world setting if they aren't going to come up with a story that would delight me and fill me with excitement. I would love to see season two redoing the first season with a time twist. It was stated in the first season that the Flower Immortal living was against her destiny while she was still a baby. Then mentioned over and over how Phoenix and Frost flower had a destined love doom and how there 'must be a reason for it'. Eluding, if considered, that it was all incorrect due to some prior issue in their (former) lives. A suggested storyline I would be interested in would be how the 'Lord of Time' stepped in after so much was disrupted, the last straw being the Time Vault held open by the Floral Realm. Neither good nor bad, but the 'Lord of Time' is viewed as both while it is discovered and attempted to be corrected by those who reach enlightenment status. With lots of minor antagonists such as the God of Night's mother being married to the Heavenly Emperor first so Phoenix is no longer the favored son, as a suggestion. The Lord of Time would be the main 'enemy' throughout with new alliance lines drawn in comparison to the first season. I personally love the development created thus far and am selfishly wanting to experience it again from a new light instead of a continuing sequel. I'm sure whatever they come up with will be wonderful and I'm looking forward to it.

They may have changed it, but I still got a strong gay vibe from The Untamed. To the point where I Googled it to see if that's the direction they were headed (not from disapproval but just shock as it's a Chinese series and therefore heavily censored)...especially the early episodes. Never anything that was said, but I wonder if the director or actors chose to play it that way because the looks that several of the characters gave each other were smoldering and filled with longing.

Ashes of love is my first favorite Chinese romantic drama but I like mostly the chemistry of original cast I kept watching this drama many times and if they started filming season 2 in different cast I don’t interested to watch anymore.

I am an American who loves Ashes of Love. It was my first Cdrama and I compare everything else to it, including 10 Mile Peach Blossom, which I know is more popular but I think Ashes of Love is in the same league. Anyway, I am not Asian descent but love everything Asian. I definitely would watch Ashes of Love 2 if it centered on Runyu and him finding love and trying to sort out the Realm of Heaven and Hell. I love his character and I would love to see a story pick up from him seeing Jinmi and Xufeng and their son. I do want to see the two original characters but its time to move on.

yes...middle episode of AOL really dragged out I think I skipped a few eps. Funnily for Eternal Love the yang mi one, I skipped the whole first 12 ep cz it's so boring. So it's normal for some eps were slow and 'diluted'
