​@@RandomUserX99 a lot of secondhand products are basically still have 10+ years of shelf life, some even work better than the modern version of the same product, because nowadays even in the US, companies cut cost too much, and resort to using cheap prone to fail component. unlike older appliance that was built to last forever a lot of stuff like furniture, basically can last who know 20-50 years, it's very reassuring that a lot of secondhand items get inspected and cleaned thoroughly with care

after learning how difficult and expensive it is to get rid of old unwanted furniture, appliances, and various home decor in Japan, I can appreciate this guy's business a lot, and the care he takes in refurbishing these things. I'm sure he's saved a lot of people from the headache of not knowing what to do with their old items. but also, I can appreciate this business as a girl who LOVES thrifting and finding unique old treasures at vintage shops.

​@@TiveyHouse-dn1rt In some area since they don't have the recycle facility you have to call the municipality ask about the pick up schedule, and buy the sticker to be put on the large items. The sticker is basically the fee for the pick up driver you hire from the municipality. The whole process can take a week or even weeks if they don't have enough man power

As a kid, I remember TV repair man coming to the house to fix the beast of a console of a unit my parents had. Saved money and waste. Now, we toss an LCD unit. Even if it is to a recycling center we are on the negative side of the equation because not everything is recycled. Reduce, REPAIR, and recycle.

These types of professions are something every country desperately needs. Repairmen capable of fixing different brands, gadgets, and devices, enabling these products to gain a second-life so to speak at a cost where the majority of the population can reasonably afford doing so. Industries are actively pushing them out of the market, often forcing customers to replace products instead of fixing them. Governments really need to implement grants for these types of workers to prevent the industry from dying out.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this!! Thrift stores in the Netherlands are some of my favourite places to go, they allow me to consume without feeling guilty about the environment or working conditions. To see how its done in Japan, is very fascinating. It accually makes me want to understand the Dutch process more! he has so many best furniture pieces! honestly the sellers of japan second-hand items (japan surplus) here in the philippines really still sells it at near brandnew price which is a bad reputation for a lot of resellers here. that’s why you really gotta look properly with reasonable prices. i also appreciate the owner and japan for having second-hand license to make sure they are credible and selling it properly with a good price. i really love muji items so i’m definitely looking for those here in philippines properly..

In the Philippines, its known as japan surplus shops all over the islands. Its items are very cheap but the quality is better than the brand new. Recyling is best for the environment.
