It’s amazing, isn’t it? The most impressive thing about that screen is that even at the exact same refresh rate and frame rate, the OLED one will feel MUCH more fluid and responsive. The panel's pixel response time is insanely better compared to LCD. I’d even argue that the OLED 90Hz feels better than the Ally's 120Hz. Oh and yeah - the HDR rocks. Try Ori and the Will of the Whisps and you’ll immediately notice what I mean. BUT: It’s not a 120Hz panel, don’t know where you got this from. Also, at the end of the day, the Ally runs Windows. - which unfortunately (still) sucks in a handheld format. Try quick resuming games from sleep on an Ally - good luck with that. Most games also perform better on SteamOS due to bespoke features such as precompiled shader caches. Sure, the Ally boasts more raw performance, but at what usability cost?

I rather have better battery over the graphics, the Oled is a big win too, and you pay less then the one you got. I own both LCS and OLED both are 512 and I say that it helps m with my eye which I have issue with now and love the colors and how bright you see now. I heard the Ally has issue with SD cards, it all depends on which one you think si better but think i will stick to the Steam Deck seem more easy and more friendlybut I also think play what you love we all gamers and we all have different taste no one loses really as long as get to play games.

Hi, I'm thinking of getting one of these but not sure if my Steam library will work on it. I run Steam on Mac M1 and have my games there. If I buy a Steam Deck, can I run them all on it or will I have to buy them again because they are the Mac versions? Thanks in advance for any info on this!

You won’t need to buy them again, since you own them. Doesn’t matter which platform it was purchased on, since Steam doesn’t sell Mac specific titles, it’s just comparability based. To see if they’re compatible with Steam Deck, a quick search for steam deck verified will show titles that are 100% optimized. However, even games that SAY incompatible may be playable, it just comes down to weird technicalities. But stay away from titles like Call of Duty, and don’t bother getting it for games like Fortnite (if you play it) since the Easy Anti-Cheat service does NOT work on Linux.

That or half life's color, or just they want orange to differentiate themselves to other console makers, Red Nintendo, Green Xbox, and Blue for PlayStation

To me the colors or over saturated. The Ally matches the colors when in vivid mode which I would never want. The brightness can be turned up on the Ally but I don't need more brightness. After playing games on the Ally I realized that 1080p looks far better than 800p. I can't see the oled being better because it is not 1080p and has no variable refresh rate. The Ally rules. I have a 100watt charger in my vehicle, a charger at work and a charger at home. I can turn off boost and make the battery last a long time on the Ally if I need to. I knew Asus would be a major competitor because they started making computer parts in 1989 and their net worth is 9 billion.

i think valve doing a good job choosing Linux over crappy windows 11, windows in my opinion good for laptops and some heavy loaded tablets, but for handheld consoles i don't think this is good idea using windows because of the core of this OS. Linux is much lighter and way better in optimization compare to windows.

The special edition model actually to me you don’t make sense when it comes to price it’s no different than the thoughts it just has a different shell that’s all and the case is supposed to be two in one big deal all the cases are week even though they look nice yes it should do the job but I found one that fits and much stronger than what they give you like the Rog Ally that a great system but for the price they couldn’t give a case with it. You had to buy it separate and the cardboard stand LOL WOW garbage so I was mad to find something better which I did decent duck and case it’s just this company’s need to stop being so selfish if they did, they would be a great company and probably sell a lot and I know about the the memory slot never had a problem myself not saying it didn’t happen, but it hasn’t for me and the fixing things apparently is a problem with them I don’t know myself never experienced it never had to yet plus I have an extended warranty for Best Buy. That covers me there anyway so yeah, great video just had to share.

Cool video, i might buy one. I have been rather impressed with apple's a17 pro chip on iPhone 15 pro max which is able to play console quality games like resident evil village with ray tracing! I doubt android is catching up anytime soon 😂✌️

Battery life isn't an issue on the Ally if you don't mind using a power bank.

yeah but the fact that u have to bring it always anywhere u go is a bummer. i know most of us play atleast 2hrs without plug in. i use to own an ally playing diablo 4 and division 2. OLED SD helps me to push more extra 1hr for total of 3hrs gametime without plug in. it helps alot
