Now it’s been 2 years. I remember moving away from Buffalo a month after but that’s because we got a job in Boston. I haven’t been to Buffalo since June 22 2022 but coming back next Friday. I swear after that incident, nothing has been the same. I remember when Buffalo was a happy, peaceful, and prosperous place. Sad to see what it’s become. After I moved, nothing has been the same. I’m not saying I’m so important tho. The black community deserves better and has done so much for us in Buffalo. Anyone who still lives in Buffalo or Amherst, NY (that’s where I actually lived throughout childhood), please tell me what is going on, if the black community is okay, and how Buffalo is recovering. 2022 changed Buffalo forever… 😢✊🏿

We in buffalo lost our sense of security. I remember seeing not only police, but department of homeland security and FBI at grocery stores after the terrorist attack. I thought to myself, "is this it? Is this how we have to live now?" People afraid to go into public because hateful individuals seek to destroy the innocent. The entire city of Buffalo and its people are close. We are the city of good neighbors.

So I worked for Tops for 12 years as a meat cutter worked at that store a few times. I then left Tops went to become an armed guard and went back to that store more then a few times. Make no mistake it was not a safe or nice store in any means. It was what we called a 1st of the month store because that was the main time it was busy. Theft was SKY HIGH at that store make no mistake. Parts of Buffalo have made a come back BUT the east side and the south side are still bad and the community is 100% to blame. I can’t tell you how many time I’ve heard gunshots ring out in Buffalo and no one bats any eye. The gangs have killed more people since the shooting then died in the shooting I bet.

Buffalo is a third world country especially on the east side,,it is a place the leaders use to promote a false sense of commitment,,what makes the east side special is the people, the community of neighbors who are used to being forgotten,,Mayor Brown has invested a minuscule amount when compared to the projects for biking on Niagara st, the walkable Elmwood village, and delivering to the large developers,,the money allocated to the east side will go into developers pockets,,the people will get the dregs, the trickle down will trickle,,we are an embarrassment,,the splash pad, the broadway market,,all sad, lifeless projects that are heralded as noteworthy, but they are lackluster,,the refugee community IS rebuilding the city and it speaks volumes that people from war torn horrific places can come to Buffalo and succeed but a family born and raised on the east side cannot own their own home? Start a business on every corner? Get multiple degrees?
