I fell into the exact same trap that Crystal unfortunately did. My children were 4 1/2 yrs old and 7 1/2 yrs old. Id never smoked weed, never drank, actually hated drinking, and i was with my children 24/7. I was going through getting my diagnosis of bipolar and getting on proper meds, going through a separation, and i was also very very sick for month with gallbladder stones, but they caused severe infections and they kept pushing my surgery off for almost a whole year. About half way through that year the pain kept getting worse and worse and worse. My doctor started prescribing me percs 2X a day as needed. I had never even taken a tylenol 1. As soon as i took that 1st percocet it felt like the world was finally good. I didnt feel pain, i didnt feel sadness, i felt like i could actually get things done finally while being a single mom struggling with so much all at once. Again the doctor pushed my surgery but oh dont worry here are some oxy 20's to add to your percs you already get. I had no clue i was slowly becoming addicted to the monster. I was the happiest id been in soooo long. Once i had my surgery my doctor sent me home with one month worth of pills and i never even thought about what do i do after??? Well after came about 2 1/2 weeks later. I wasnt feeling great, i was so irritable, and thought i just had the flu. I went to my best friends so she could help me care for my kids, and while there her ex came in to drop their son off and seen me and laughed. He was a dealer, and said ur not flu sick ur dope sick. I almost hit him cause he damn well knew i wasnt into that life. He said here ill leave these (percs) here for ur "flu". I went upstairs and tried sleeping for hours. I finally in the middle of the night when everyone was sleeping took a few. Low and behold i finally slept for hours. Got up was okay then started feeling shitty again. Took more and was up cleaning and doing everything just like before....realized real fast im in trouble. That was the starting point of an 11 year addiction. I have been sober almost 3 years now and have accomplished so much. These women can do it....if they want to. ❤
