A Year at Thule (2022-2023)

Thank you for chronicling your tour at Pituffik (Thule). Watching the video brought back memories of my year working up on the J-Site over three-decades ago. Back then, it was the 12th Missile Warning Squadron, 1st Space Wing, Air Force Space Command.

My NCOIC at my first SAC base often threatened to send me to Thule or Goose Bay when I screwed up. Fortunately, never made it to either.

Goose Bay Was Great! I was only there a week. Chow was great and local ladies quite nice. Labatts hangovers. Off to Orland. 1980.

I'd have loved to have been stationed there. Unfortunately, there was no call for my AFSC up there. Would have been cool for a bit, then I'd have been going crazy! Thanks for the video. MSgt Mark, retired!

Over a 3 year period I spent months up overhauling the 5 main diesel engines used for power. That was 2007-2010. I am glad to see they made some great improvements with the living arrangements. I had so much fun when I was up there for a few weeks at a time. Do they still have the go karts in the summer?
