Jesus (our Lord and Savior) specifically said in the first book of the new testament Matthew 23:9 "call no man on earth your Father" so pls don't get mad at me, but how would you respond to Jesus , he said it, not me. so just imagine for a minute ( jesus here, remember what I said in matt 23:9 why are you calling yourself and others "father" when I said not to ) what would your answer be? (to Jesus) thank you

@@benredeemed7204 Oh Good Grief! Jesus was not speaking literally, giving instructions on what words to avoid. He was speaking, as he always did, in parables and aphorisms. He was saying that ultimately we have only 1 heavenly father through eternity. This does not mean that we are not to call our biological father by that word, or that a priest, who becomes the symbolic "Father" of his congregation cannot be called that word. Should we call them "Dad" instead?

Dorian King praise God brother! Do you know where to go to become Catholic? www.catholic.com/tract/how-to-become-a-catholic is a good start and you can find out more about the Catholic faith there. You can also go to your local Catholic church and introduce yourself to the priest. Let me know if you have any questions, I’ll be praying for you!

@@fencetennis Thank you so much! God bless you! I've been researching Catholicism for the past year to year an a half and I love everything about it! I've looked into every religion you could think of but none of them have spoken to me with such a powerful message that Catholicism has, I'm 16 and my mother & step father who are both Pagan worshippers, they won't let me go anywhere. Both of then are very strict and hate the Catholic & Christian Faith which hurts me so bad seeing how blind they are to not know of what such a beautiful religion Catholicism is. So due to the fact of them being so strict I can't go to a church and if I were to even try they'd probably rip my head off or try to curse a spell on me for all I know, so I I think I'll have to wait until I'm out of high school and on my own, sadly enough. 😢

The Father and the Son are the Parents of the Holy Spirit, if many churches are correct. If many churches are correct, The Trinity is a Family-- two Parents and a Progeny, just like a human family.(Humans are created in the "image" and "likeness" of God according to Genesis) In the book of Job, which is part of the Bible, the Lord is compared to a father and also a mother with a womb "From whose womb comes the ice? Who gives birth to the frost from the heavens?"-Job 38:29. Saying the Father and the Son are Parents of the Holy Spirit is simply another way of saying "the Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father and the Son" which has been official Catholic doctrine for centuries. The Church teaches that the Son is begotten from the Father. If this is true, the Father is the Father (Parent)of the Son. The Church teaches that the Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father and the Son. If this is true, the Father and the Son are the Parents of the Holy Spirit. Of course, the scriptures are vague if the Holy Spirit is the 3rd or 2nd Person of the Trinity, whichever of these is true, the 1st and the 2nd may be the Parents of the 3rd.

This is the kind of life I want to live. I’m 23 and currently training to be a mechanic. I’m scared and afraid of my future but each day when I pray and give the Lord all my problems, he seems to have an answer. I keep feeling called to the priesthood and to guide others to the Lord. But I have no idea how idea how to begin. Does anyone have any idea how I can begin? I have no college degree, and I have no reliable transportation. Does anyone know how I can begin?

@@feletipula_JCIL Wrong. 1 Cor 4:15, "For if you were to have countless tutors in Christ, yet you would not have many fathers, for in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel." Acts 7:2, "And he said, "Hear me, brethren and fathers! The God of glory appeared to our father Abraham when he was in Mesopotamia, before he lived in Haran,..." Acts 22:1, "Brethren and fathers, hear my defense which I now offer to you." There are countless more examples. Was Paul and all the other Apostles purposely going against Christ here to lead all astray? Or was it that they knew the context of what Christ was saying? Paul declares himself a father to us, as well as Abraham, and he even addresses the fathers listing as "fathers". Paul is a father to us by his association to Christ. He is handing down what was given him by Christ. Herod is not our father, he has no association to Christ and eternal salvation. The proud pharisees and scribes are not our fathers, they had hard hearts and rejected Christ. None of the pagan gods are our fathers. We should not call such men and myths our fathers in the faith. Man on his own is nothing. Such men stand by their own desires and intellect to "father" others to achieve their goals which are separated from God. Man united to God and working for his will transcends his own person and is mystically joined to Christ through the Spirit. This is the mystical body of Christ. If we are to take our inheritance to eternal life with Christ, all those who have salvation live by the spirit of God, and so we are all related through the spirit. Paul is our father through that spirit, just as our priests are.

@@TheFofotron Wow, you thought of that all by yourself? Look FYI I am being bothered right now by some idiot monitoring my activities and hacking into my computer so I will give you an extended answer after I take of this issue I have. But the my answer to you is that you should stop using your opinions and not directly what the Word of God says. So for a man to think and say that he or they have connection through Christ so making them the Father? Are seriously arguing that theory of yours? Now as I was saying you are barking up the wrong tree here with your theories and ideologies . I don't have any fake money on me so I am not going to buy any lies today. So fortunately for you dont try to hard to sell your lies because since the day I was born into a Catholic family but sadly I see very loving people go down an alley way the Catholic way darkness and lead lead them to their demise. Being a missionary is a great responsibility! The missionary must have great energy, fortitude and courage. Wherever the missionary goes, in whatever part of the world he is in, he must spread the Word. The local people must understand what the missionary is saying to them. The missionary must get the Word right to the people! Therefore, every missionary must know the language of the local people! To everyone who is going on a mission or preparing for one I would like to recommend a very good workshop by Yuriy Ivantsiv Polyglot Notes. Practical tips for learning foreign language. This excellent book will give you answers how to correctly learn a foreign language with a minimum of your time and effort. This book answers many of the questions that everyone faces when learning a language. Good luck with your important work!

Jacob Andersen just come out as gay and fuck what your parents think then you won't have to go though all this stupidity because that's the real reason most of these poor guys trying to act "cool" are there. They escaped family and get to be with guys all the time which is what you are hoping for.

Hello, I am currently a seminarian at Mundelein seminary and many of the seminarians here, myself included, are quite traditional. For context, just last month half the seminary community voluntarily signed up to go to the Mozart Requiem Pontifical High Mass on All Soul's Day at St. John Cantius in downtown Chicago. Mundelein may have some issues, all seminaries do, but it is a great place for Priestly formation with fantastic men from across the country.

St. Augustine meant "To fall in love with Jesus." After the Seminary, the task will be to figure out what do with the time left after attending to Sacramental duties (Holy Sacrifice, Reconciliation, Anointing) which take about 14 hours a week, and the 70 hours of sleep, meals, hygiene and exercise. That leaves 84 hours in the week to do things. If one's bishop would require that his priests give him a run-down on what they do with those 84 hours, how would they fill out the "To Do" list?

JMJ. I love dodge ball, but.....what about the recitation of the Divine Office? What about the salvation of souls? What about the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass being first and foremost at the center of the seminarian's life, a true renewal of the Sacrifice on Calvary?
@colin4758
@colin4758 4 жыл бұрын
They do that but it's normal and okay to let off some steam with your brother seminarians and form brotherhood and fellowship. Without that there's the potential of men like Cardinal McCarrick. I once heard a homily about why there were so few credible accusations against priests in my diocese. That's because the priests in my diocese had strong male role models back home and at seminary so that when life gets hard they don't have to internalize it. It is incredibly important for priests to have friends and established brotherhood with their fellow priests.
