Girl, if you can see, make yourself a quilted jacket. I bet you can buy quiltrd material but if not, no biggy, easy to make. Plus you can use way better outter material then the store bought stuff. From patching to leather or Faux(fake) or ripstop material. Remember ripstop started with major uses with military items. Uniforms to parachutes. Strong durable and yet light and water repelling. On top, you can attach an added lining with faux fur for extra warmth. Easy peasy. Imagine if you cant find a similar pattern, if you drew one up then made your own coat, it might cost about the same for the 1st one but better quality.. but you can make more for pennies after the 1st. Christmas, birthdays or ?? Babushka day.. lol.

Btw, the sanctions on various items like coffee makers, washers etc... there's a price limit. Why? The cheaper items don't use the high end computer chips that iran and Russia needs for drones and such. The low priced ones are pretty much a timers type system with digital display. You can look online but i believe certain items over $100 and other items like washers or ?? Is 300. Don't quote me on that. It's from memory but they kept giving different $$ amounts so i can't recall exactly. But I'm sure you can see it easy enough. Btw, did you see PUTLERs speech recently? There was a 13 yr old girl from Muriapul that had her parents killed by him on stage... she was in temporary foster care then was basically kidnapped and forced to go to Russia. Her friends from Ukraine saw her. Basically she was TOLD to recite a speech, then forgot . Then told to give a guy a hug as if HE SAVED her with PUTLER nearby. You can see how uncomfortable she was.

Hello Ksenia. I’m from the US and I enjoy when you take us out and about in St Petersburg. It was interesting to see the products available in the mall. The number of such malls in the US has been declining since the late 90’s-early 2000’s due to increase in online shopping. There used to be 4-5 in my Midwestern city and now there are maybe 2. ❤

So is it true that American malls are in decline? What about the prices in America? Is there a notable increase? I am Czech and our prices are skyrocketing in some cases. Since the new-age communists in EU totally corrupted the agricultural market with subsidies, there is currently a supply decrease in vegetables. 2 pounds of bell peppers cost +/- like an average meal in a restaurant.

Why is it that different in the US? China has probably the most advanced online shopping space in the world and yet shopping malls are opening every other month in their cities. Russians are also not that behind when it comes to online shopping. For example, the richest woman in Russia (Tatyana Bakalchuk) runs a very successful online store: WILBERRIES.

The U.S. Malls were the internet in the U.S. before the internet so naturally the Malls have been in a decline for many years. We are also in a different era culturally and it seems the art of communication and meeting people face to face isn't the best option anymore. I grew up as a kid in the U.S. in the 80's and the Malls were the big hang out for most young people and teenagers because the environment was perfect to hang out at Malls. It's interesting how the internet is supposed to make it easier to get to know people when in some ways it has also created barriers because it cuts back on people wanting to actually meet each other for actual communication. All of this off course decreases businesses for Malls so either stores move out or the Mall completely closes. Time moves on I guess. Greetings from Virginia U.S.

You're right: Malls in America are pretty much dead -- saw their best days in the late 1960s, 1970s but started going into decline in the 1980s. TODAY, most American are long gone and are vacant lots, or something else was built where the mall used to be. Russia is 40-50 years behind America when it comes to the "mall-business-model" so it remains to be seen how long THEIR malls will survive. -- BR

Thanks, Ksenia. Malls are not the thing in America much anymore either. Most huge malls have long since been abandoned and converted. There are a few still. However, this question comes from a little bit of a critical eye. I noticed that even though you are going around to various stores with camera in hand (I'm assuming it's not hidden), I'm surprised that you get no interaction from any of the salespeople in these stores. I can't imagine a retail store in a mall in America where the salesperson on the floor doesn't attempt to make a sale when you enter. Or question why you want to wander around their store with a camera (even in the Age of Iphones) Indeed, I notice most of them just walk away from you. LOL! In America that would surely be grounds for being fired. That's odd behavior for a normal salesperson. How can they make a commission? Maybe a cultural difference in Russia accounts for that behavior? Did you have to clear your tour with some of these stores in advance?

Cosco or Walmart? I can answer that. Hell no! Nor do they have large supermarkets like Publix or Kroger. They sale bulk products like sugar for example in Ziplock bags. You always no when the sale is on because riot police is needed to keep the old from fighting over sugar and buckwheat.

The closest to Costco is probably Metro.Anyway, if you search for 'Russian wholesale... " , you'll find lots of videos, incl by English speaking expats

Too many big European brands still being sold if there are supposed to be sanctions , someone is profiteering by selling into Russia, and one Russian said it was Poland and Turkey .

Poland ? No way, not at all, or it is the most hypocritical country on earth, it is the fiercest country against Russia

I believe you are upset that only a few companies left the Russian Market, however companies like Zara are all available online and most costumers prefer the online shopping.

Shopping malls in the USA are a thing of the past, online shopping has taken over. Malls that were very popular 10-15 years ago are now closed.

I’m learning the language and the alphabet right now mostly, so thanks for sounding out the names of the stores. How common is it for stores to use the English alphabet characters, is it just in the big malls? Some of those laptops are gaming laptops especially the first one you looked at by MSI. High spec laptops cost more than the PC equivalent that’s why those were so expensive. They’re the same kind of price everywhere.

I'm also learning the language я учу русский a couple of tips for you, for learning the alphabet there is an app called RusAlphabet which gives you the basis in the alphabet you need to get underway and as I'm sure you already know, Duolingo for the language itself. Good luck with your studies

Wow the price off electronics there to Britain is a lot , I buy second hand name brands most but bought a washer / dryer (new) for less than £500 , a fridge/freezer less than £100 cooker , less than £100, kettle £10 , microwave /grill £60 as I moved , decorating a new place was expensive tho
