If you know a little Yiddish and therefore can at times refocus from subtitles to Shane's face, you would see what a fine actor he is and how accurately he conveys Yiddish sensibility.

I can't get over what a geshmake Yiddish Shane speaks, it's a pleasure to listen to him. You would think he's born and raised in Kasrilevke. I remember when he started learning Yiddish, I never believed that he would get this far. A groyser yasher koyakh

Brilliant! Thank you for this! for bringing back to life our holy and one and only Sholem Aleichem, who himself had one of the best-attended funerals in NYC. "Sholem Aleichem died in New York on May 13, 1916, from tuberculosis and diabetes, aged 57, while working on his last novel, Motl, Peysi the Cantor's Son, and was buried at Old Mount Carmel cemetery in Queens. At the time, his funeral was one of the largest in New York City history, with an estimated 100,000 mourners" Wikipedia.

Je ne parle pas Français. I recommend contacting Bait Sholem Aleichem in Tel Aviv or the Medem Bibliotheque in Paris.
