This is what I love. There needs to be more videos of synths through pedals and modules. The rez on that 800 is outstanding. Sounds like a fuzz guitar pedal, but without all the smearing and feedback that happens. Cheers.

Thanks soillodge. Sometimes synths and pedals just match up really well. In this case the resonance of the Pro with the input drive of the Zen came together perfectly. Other times some pedals and tones just never seem to meet. It's odd really, I haven't found any way to predict what will work.

This is excellent, Richard. You've nailed the tone of an intro song that played before a Sisters of Mercy show I attended in '88/'89. I thought it was a guitar at the time, but now... That's a good memory I'd nearly forgotten (and a really, really incredible show). I've been looking for an analog poly for months and didn't even know the 800 existed. So thanks for that. My wallet, in particular, thanks you for that. Ordered. 🙂

I'm intrigued by this intro song now! But I take it as high praise, thankyou :) And yes, I think the 800 lives up to its reputation.

@@RichardDeHove Hi praise, indeed. Given their darker modes, perhaps it was a Prophet 600, lol. That would be too funny, but of course we'll never know. I didn't look at gear in those days; eyes on other things, and first time in Switzerland to find my favorite band at the time playing the only night we were in Geneva. Trippy.

Thanks. I knew this wouldn't be to everyone's taste but they're the kind of sounds I always wanted when I first started playing with synths way back in the day - but could never get.

Very cool and very NOT Prophet sounding! Of course we might not hear this exact sound again. I did the same thing by immediately playing after first unboxing, then later reading the manual: "wait 5 minutes after powering on the Pro-800 to allow the oscillators to warm up". Oops!

:D Well, I wasn't quite that quick, but I think I botched the save later anyway

@@RichardDeHove Heh, no worries. I tend to botch anything with press and hold functions and sub-menus, which is 95% of all synths.
