*A2 & M2 THRASH* | Journey On Arriva Kent & Surrey Route 701 | 6520 (YX17 NEN)

Throughout August, the 701 ran (as a trial route) between Bluewater and Maidstone via the A2 and M2 then goes past Ringlestone and Maidstone East Station before arriving into Maidstone town centre. The trial route was allocated with Enviro 400 MMCs from Maidstone Garage. Here, we ride one of the MMCs (6520) on the fastest section of the route, the A2 and M2 section. The bus reached speeds of up to 60mph (The YX16s and all Gillingham E400MMCs can only go up to 50mph max) and overtook a few trucks on the motorway stretches. This was probably one of my favourite Arriva E400MMCs I've ridden alongside Maidstone & District liveried 6528. I even prefer these YX17s over the YX16s from my pov.
