After watching your video I have decided to use this motor with 4s 40amp esc and 1045 prop. Will only do 100% on take off, after thst 75% max. Will it handle it?

you will burn the motor ! 1045 is too big and it will over load the motor even at 75% .

Hi... Thanks for the test with 4s lipo. Was wondering, did you test it on a full flight? Because the specification on this motor is only 2-3 cell batteries, CMIIW. Is it safe enough without causing the motor to burn?

Hi , Yes I have tested it on my XUAV skysurfer and Volantex Ranger both using the same motor with 8x4 APC prop with 4S Lipo. Once airborne it only uses about 4A of current at less than 50% throttle and the motor just slightly gets warm. Because both pf those planes are setup for long range FVP, they are bit heavy with all electronics onboard, and they need fair bit of power to take off , so 4S lipo gives that extra power I need for the take off . @@asangag thank you for the reply. Its a bit relieved, I don't need to buy another bigger motor for my mini skyhunter. And yes, you are correct, once it airborne, cruising will need fewer amps and it glides more. Thanks again.

@@Landat78 I bought the ranger secondhand and it did not come with the stock motor , but I replaced the motor it came with (NTM prop drive) with A2212 1400KV and 4S Lipo with 8x4 APC prop

Hello Asanga I use 4S with A2212 1400KV but after %75 throttle engine stops immediately. I am using 40A ESC and 8045 Prop. I have 6 A2212 but 5 of them is not working after %75 throttle with 8045 Prop, one of them is working proper. Have you got any idea to solve this?

What motor 2212 approximately 1400kv can you recommend? At this time I'm thinking of this one and racerstar 2212 1400kv. Which is better? Can you tell? It is going in my AR900 with 8x4 prop and it will run 3S, probably 3s1p (18650) 3000mah

I found they both to be very similar in performance and I think they all come from the same factory. But the racerstar is more expensive. So I would use the non-branded one and I haven't had any issues with them

current draw is about 15A at 80% throttle and it should be ok but check the motor temperature after flying for about 10 mins

no, 3 blade prop creates more drag and the system will not run efficiently. The primary reason for three bladed props on full scale aircraft is ground clearance. or noise reduction.

I haven't tested 1000kv with 4S but I 'm sure you can use 4S but it will probably draw about 25A and thats over the limit of the motor as these motors are rated for max 20A. If you are not running it at full throttle all the time you could get away with 4S/1045 combo but I would use a bigger ESC ,like 40A
