Thanks for videoing and posting this. I was on the TUI flight that is shown at the start of your video so it's very interesting to see what it looked like from the outside. The pilot's 2nd attempt at landing looked from the plane like we'd almost touched down. I was in an aisle seat but could see the runway and it looked a close one. The pilot and staff were brilliant in keeping us informed on each go round, and with providing sick bags and water! I managed to keep my breakfast down but felt very light headed and queasy after that. So thankful for everything and everyone: especially the TUI staff both on the plane and at Manchester airport and the coach company (Red Rose Travel) who ferried us all back to Gatwick safely. I'm not a great traveller at the best of times!

Wow, I'm happy for you! What was the atmosphere on the plane? I bet many people panicked! I have a severe flight phobia despite the fact that I fly about 3-4 times a year since 2006. I'm in my country now and I'm due to fly back to London on Monday, but I decided to take the train (which would be 25 hrs instead of the 2 hour flying time) after seeing these footages. I absolutely hate turbulence, can't deal with severe weather any more.

Thank you for commenting here. Its always nice to hear from passengers side. I hope you had a great journey back to London from Manchester. These pilots are very well trained and they did an excellent job. I've been tracking your flight from approach to London until you landed at Manchester. Also on Instagram one user (101new) posted a video of your go-around , filmed next to a runway. Please check the video. It was very windy on the ground and almost impossible to film at some points.
@topfelya2 жыл бұрын
Don't worry and don't be scary ! Trust me ! The flying is very safe. Pilots are so professional , they will never put your life at risk. This is why they do Go-around. Turbulence is not dangerous at all. Just keep your seat belt fasten all the time.

I've watched the video several times now, absolutely admiring the pilots skills. Also I imagine the cabin crews had to stay calm and professional for the passengers' sake as everyone eyes were on them and their reactions (poker faces 😶). If I was a passenger, I would deffo be looking at them, "If our Cabin crew doesn't look worried, neither should I, theoretically 😁" Part of my brain 🧠 "panicking slightly😬🥴" and the other part "love the roller coaster 🎢 🤸♂️🤸♀️🤸🤪🤣"...... and my stomach "I don't feel good🤢" ! 🤣

Love the skylarks, obviously they weren't grounded but thought birdstrike would be a risk with them soaring over the airfield but then they are only small so unlikely to cause a problem. Bit sad though that aeroplanes mess up their breeding patterns.

Steady wind is tough but strong gusty winds are a impossible to predict. You can have a gust hit you that lifts you 100' above the runway or be riding a gust at 75' above the runway when it stops, you lose all that lift and slam into the runway, maybe you bounce and skid off the runway, maybe the gear collapses, etc.. What a nightmare.

You are absolutely right Mickey ! Windshear is the nightmare for pilots.Windshear is a drastic, sudden change in wind direction or speed over a relatively short distance in the atmosphere. A windshear encounter would cause an accident in the worst case scenario. When windshear is predicted or when the aircraft has encountered windshear, the system alerts the pilot and warns of danger.
