It just makes sense for an airline to not remove an aircraft until the new one is on the way or confirmed. This is business 101, don’t remove the wires until you take a picture or label them, same theory.

Air Canada bringing back a couple of 767s that have been in storage since 2020, 30 some odd years old. Got to do what you have to do when new supply is basically non-existent. Maybe Melbourne will see one of these gems!

I'm still wondering why AC doesn't purchase some A330neos or 350s, since the productivity of 787s aren't so fast.
@zixiongyou2672 күн бұрын
AC already has 330ceo so if it purchases 330neo there's no need to do training of the full motion simulator😂

Because it’s not like they can get the A330neo or A350s any quicker either.

Air Canada is trying to aim for more fleet commonality, They're already one of the biggest 787 operators in the world, and adding different aircraft to the fleet could disrupt that. Their A330 Ceo's are planned to be replaced by their order of up to 30 787-10's, so there's no real need for the 330Neo. As for the A350? well, It's too big for them really. The A350 is significantly larger than the 787 and therefore does not compete in the same market. Rather, If Air Canada wanted to order the A350, it would be as a replacement to their 777's, not as a side grade to the 787. Air Canada actually has some of the youngest 777's in the world right now so they don't really plan on replacing them for at least another 5 or so years. TLDR: They prefer the 787 over the A330Neo, and the A350 is too big for the market they are currently trying to fill.

Yep. I chuckled too when I heard 90 planes in 5 years. Wounded how many of AC's investors took that seriously.
@ProdagistКүн бұрын
To be fair 60 of those 90 aircraft are from Airbus. Not saying Airbus doesn't have on-time delivery issues, but they're significantly more reliable than Boeing is when it comes to on-time deliveries.

For me it's good news that Etihad are finally bringing back evening flights from Manchester for the first time since 2020. Sadly not in time for my next flight with them in March.
