Tip Don’t forget the pressure, flow restricters for the turbos. There are two types of restricters depending on the bearing type of the turbo. Forgetting these can blow out the oil seals in the turbo resulting in oil smoke and possibly hydro locking the engine. The loss of oil pressure can also destroy your engine because the oil is now going straight to the sump and or out the exhaust instead of all the bearings.
@BuilderCreator9 ай бұрын
I have made a slight modification to the cooling side, but the oil system is exactly as it was on the original system. Any problems we can blame on the Toyota engineers from the 80s. ;)
@anomamos90959 ай бұрын
@@BuilderCreator . I wasn’t really commenting on your build, just a general reminder to everyone. However I think updates to turbo oiling systems have been done by Toyota since those turbos were first used to solve the kind of problems I mentioned.

Those turbos are strange. Usually the oil feed and drain are on top and bottom for proper drainage. Also the water cooling is put on the same side. Be careful.

@bobolulu76159 ай бұрын
Just a comment. Shouldn't you use separate water cooling feeds to the turbos than the series one you have? The water, after coming out of the first turbo will be hotter than what went in, so in effect, you're putting a hotter temperature of water into the second turbo to try to cool it. Using the formula Delta.t. the second turbo will run hotter.

They are in parallel, not series. Sorry if the video was confusing. Thanks for the comment and being a part of the channel.
