Beware of self-appointed gurus. Bill Wilson himself declined to be some sort of an evangelical speaker because it is counter to the tenets of humility (and in this case, honesty). This Bill fellow: * 13th Stepped his current wife while already married * Inherited a business, so is a rich guy who likes to yuk it up with his buddies at the Men’s Stag meeting as they talk about their Ferraris * Because he is rich he could afford a liver transplant. He got Hep C at a young age from sharing needles. His actual qualifications as an alky are suspect; he got “sober” at a young age and was raised in AA because his dad was a founder in southern California * His sponsor, or co-conspirator, is a New Age wannabe guru who runs a “non-profit” in Arizona where he charges fees to go out and hug trees, etc. Certainly he doesn’t work for free.
