Native ports are too expensive. Surely Cloud is the better method of delivering and playing video games on a phone. So all your phone has to do is display the gameplay and let servers do all the intensive hardware related work. Not to mention putting less heat and strain on the battery life.

2 cons: 1. Cloud gaming requires a constant internet connection, which is really dumb for single player games. 2. Technically you'd be losing out on potential revenue in the long run since consumers would only need to buy the game on one platform. Or Alternatively, you're alienating a potential market. So in the end, if companies are willing to port a game over to switch, might as well do a mobile port as well since modern phones and tablets would be able to run said games with room for improvement.

While for most handhelds, they can last 2~3 hours on medium settings 720p, with over 60~120FPS. If we lower the settings to be the same as iPhone, it could very well last around 6 hours. The iPhone becomes super hot while gaming, and cost you almost $2K. While a handheld console is at most $1K. If you are outside, what are you gonna do if your phone runs out of battery? This is great, finally the possibility of not needing to buy a separate device as a console seems likely in the future. An iPhone and iPad for on the go gaming, and a Mac for high fidelity graphics and playing on a monitor. Apple needs a beefy Apple TV console to play on the TV though

@@phillipalleva-cox3903 no matter how much they hate it, it will become huge. winlator is emulating gta v at 50+ fps on used phones worth 350 with the optimization of a toaster. u can get snapdragon 8 gen 2 at that price. also emulators take years to optimize, each game needs individual attention. winlator hardly even boots games when it came oit last year. once pc emulation becomes popular, therell be more actually optimized ported games for mobile

I’ve played the Resident Evil 4 remake on the iPhone 15 Pro Max and the ROG Ally. The iPhone version is absolutely a downgrade graphically. It’s still impressive that it runs on the iPhone at all and it’s great to be able to play it on the go. But in comparison to what the Ally and Steam Deck are able to pull off in a handheld, the iPhone version feels like Bioshock on the Switch did. Being able to purchase a game once and play it on multiple devices is a great selling point, though!

My S24 Ultra 💩's on the iphone and I'm stuck with a plateaud industry that refuses to give me games worthy of my phone. So I'm stuck using illegal avenues. Using Nyushu I can play Witcher 3 at 30fps no problem. Using Dex it looks flawless on my TV.

@@iTristendo we're getting off topic and snappy. Point is the S24 Ultra hardware is miles and miles ahead of the Iphone. In fact there's no foreseeable future where the Iphone ever beats Android hardware at this point. Apple focuses on color of the phone and the amount of cameras it has. Companies like Samsung and Asus are developing revolutionary industry changing hardware. Regardless of the capabilities of the current available software for said manufacturer ie: Apple. If those same games were available for Android the S24 and ROG would outperform it in every metric.

If hardware alone was the selling point of any piece of tech, everyone would buy the highest end PCs to game and the fastest sports cars. Something Android fans never understand is how the software and the hardware work so much better on iOS (which is why iPhones have outperformed Androids in the past with lower specs on paper). Even, for example, if the Apple A17 Pro performed worse than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in some areas, Samsung NEEDS a powerful chip since it isn't optimized for its phone only. It needs the headroom of extra brute power and by that point you're on par if not worse in performance to the A17 Pro which was made for the iPhone 15 Pro series. Apple has known this and that's why they get Triple A games while Android fans fumble wondering what went wrong lol. P.S. If you have to take illegal avenues to achieve the same result I don’t really think it’s all that superior…just saying.
