The weight of being from a big3 company should not overwhelm the talent of a group. ​@@AmiAki Yeah, we're happy about that, but of course we would also want more for them. They've been in the industry for years, yet why do they only get a short amount of time to perform? We want them to gain more recognition and fame, since they've been working so hard for years more than others who were there (of course, this is to not discredit other artists, I hope you get that part). We would take what we are given for now, but hopefully, Dreamcatcher would have more opportunities in the future.

@@misty_kei sadly it doesn’t matter how many years they been in the industry, it’s about how well their songs perform so if groups don’t have popular songs that’s chart very high then they only get one song to perform. Always been like this. Awards shows can’t really gain you recognition, if you have to get that first. Some people just don’t vibe with their rock pop music.

I don't understand why people still slepping on Dreamcatcher's talent??? THEY SING LIVE WITH SUCH DIFFICULT CHOREOGRAPHY IS INCREDIBLE TO EXPRESS HOW TALENTED THEY ARE. No offense, but some other groups lip sync blatantly but are still famous. Dreamcatcher is forever legendary and our name is Insomnia because we don't sleep on their talent.

It's part of the big 3 supremacy but also ties in with the values of Korean society. Basically put, if you are not from the big 3, it is not really likely that you'll ever be anything more than a 1-2 hit wonder. The second part of the issue is Kpop being limited in scope. The industry seriously favours specific concepts and styles depending on the gender of the people in the group. BG: Dark, loud, masculine GG: Cute, feminine, girl crush DC fits into both of these categories. There are not many groups like them in this space because the big 3 don't deviate from the same sort of stuff they were doing 10 years ago, and girl groups that are not obviously feminine rarely gain traction because of the more conservative gender roles in SK. Many Korean fans worsen this issue by being unwilling to deviate from this already pre-established norm, thereby not giving these groups even a chance to listen to their music. This is why DC are more popular abroad, same with how Oneus, ATEEZ, Stray Kids and likewise artists are also more popular abroad than they are in SK. We don't follow these same pre-established norms, if anything we actually constantly look for something that breaks that monotony as that's what our society values most (individuality). That's why we're more likely to stan these groups and that's why we oftentimes end up supporting these groups on a far greater scale than the support they receive from Koreans, despite producing primarily Korean music. I agree that it is unfortunate but it's not like we can change the way Korean society as a whole views it. We can only help to influence the changes we want to see by continuing to support artists that want to do something unique and eventually more Koreans will also become interested as they're gradually more exposed to seeing content that they enjoy from these artists. The best thing we can do at the end of the day is doing what we always have been doing, that is supporting our girls relentlessly. We got them 4 wins in a country that for the most part seems to mostly not want to acknowledge them despite all of the voting limitations placed on international fans and despite the majority of their music being primarily in a language most of us understand only a few words of. That's a crazy feat that we should all be proud of and it should also be these accomplishments that further motivate us to get these girls the acknowledgement we feel they deserve.

Have seen DC three times in the uk and they are the absolute best! Had a hi-touch with the girls (pre-covid), the girls were stunning, the staff, moving you along at a crazy speed, shameful! Love their concepts, have every cd/photo-pack etc and good wishes to all the girls. Especially like their heavier stuff, shame that it’s not as popular in Korea.
