Dude, I've been testing this ammo since its release. It's amazing. Like ridiculously amazing for the price. The muzzle velocity and the accuracy have been truly impressive for me. This has been across different lot numbers from what I can tell as well. EDIT: I'm a little shocked by Buffman's numbers. Even out of an 18" barrel I've been averaging 2704 fps. From a 20" I've been getting 2740 fps.

Interesting how those 5.56 aac are able to achieve max velocity out of a much shorter barrel than say a standard green tip 5.56. so running a shorter barrel seems like a nice ammo choice. But I would like a little more powder personally.

Let them know they should improve the loading. When PVM first came out with the MK262 clone they were in the same boat. It was very accurate, but the IMI and BH gold standards still put out more speed and as good of accuracy. Maybe AAC just needs to find a better powder for velocity. Or it's also possible my elevation/chrono is under reporting :D

Thanks for doing this test with multiple barrel lengths. Maybe I need to tone down my 75 grain reloads with CFE223 since I'm using it with a 16" and my best accuracy has been right around the 2,500 fps mark. Which is pretty close to what you averaged with this factory ammo out of the Helion. I've gone faster, but the accuracy drops with the ball powder. RMR makes a good cheap 75 grain projectile. Cheaper than Hornady 75 bthp, and groups better in my 516 Patrol.

I don't think I've seen it on your channel yet, but I'd like to see what you get using AAC's 77 grainers using their own OTMs. Consistency for the rounds seemed all over the place, average velocity of 2673 but with an extreme spread of 138 and a standard deviation of 45.12. Sorry about that. Some of that is because barrel 1 has a linear comp/blast diverter that throws the sound to the front. The second gun has a muzzle brake on it, so it's going to make more noise. The third gun has a flash hider on it, which doesn't really direct sound too much. Add the coat that acts like a channel to the mic, and they can sound different. :D

Was gonna say Pine Valley better not be around any more being as they stole the better part of a thousand bucks from me. I'd be curious to give this stuff a go, I haven't gotten on the 77 gr wagon yet.

I just got 100 round of this and it shot flawlessly. I averaged 2400 fps out of an FN CHF 14.7 barrel. I shot 6 five round groups between two different barrels, and got an average of 1.5" at 100 yards. My FN 14.7 shot right at 1 moa, with a range of .70 to 1.25 moa. I wish the muzzle velocity was closer to 2600 fps like the IMI and Federal mk262.

Seems a little slow , my 14.5 is usually 2600 ish with ImI 77gr and 75 Hornady black 75gr.

@@jaycupples4362 My speeds are estimated because I use drop calculation between 100 yards, and 300 and 400 yards. They could be a little higher but it's a good ballpark.

About 100 fps too slow in 20", SD and ES could use some improvement too, precision seems average for 77gr otm

If you pop the irons off the rifle with the 3x prism and move the prism back you shouldn’t have eye relief issues. It’s an etched reticle, unless the optic gets blown up and the gun survives you’ll never need the irons 😁
@BuffRANGE
@BuffRANGE Жыл бұрын
Very true. Where I have it now has good eye relief. I tend to leave the irons on it, as I rob the 3X at the range a lot for other guns that don't have optics :D
