This is why clear gel is basically useless for testing. The channel Tools&Targets tested this same load and his projectiles fragmented a little bit but mostly peeled back like a hollow point and penetrated 14.5 inches from a 16 inch barrel. This is why the FBI, Federal and Speer say that synthetic gel is a toy. It has no ability to provide repeatable results and there is no baseline with which to compare results. This also illustrates the genius of Paul Harrell. He knows that synthetic gel is useless and uses a meat target. Not because it's repeatable or consistent but if you can't use calibrated gel then at least the meat target is somewhat representative of a real body.

If you'd like to bankroll me getting organic gel, than be my guest. And the problem with a meat target is you have to shoot it enough times to overcome the multiple variables in shooting a target like that

The 55 just over expanded that close to the muzzle. I’m sure at 25 yards all of these rounds would have acted a little differently. I know all 3 weights are extremely effective on wild pigs . Just this past weekend I tried the 55 and 75 grains on my neighbors peanut farm. At 50 to 70 yards they got it done.

You were close regarding AAC. What happened was that AAC was part of Remington, but Remington filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2020. PSA acquired AAC (and a few other former Remington brands/companies) through that bankruptcy. So AAC is now essentially part of PSA. Also: I was hoping this would be a video for AAC's 300 Blk Black Tip. It's going quite a bit slower (~2,300 FPS) and with a heavier bullet (110 grain), so I wonder how much different that would perform in the gel!

So my question has always been unless your shooting through someone at the side you don't need 14+ in penetration u need about 3 so why is it the standard considering most period get shot point blank. Genuinely interested in knowing why
@TheKalkara131Күн бұрын
@@wmski88 obviously, I don't know the real reasons the FBI scientists and doctors chose that number. Some reasons I've heard before are because you can't control the situations around your threat. He might present you with a nice, perfect frontal shot. But your bullet might also have to go up and through an arm if he's pointing a weapon at you. Could be angled to the side, could be winter and he's wearing a lot of layers. You can't control any of it, and if your chosen load doesn't penetrate deep enough, you may be in trouble. You can't control what state of mind he may be in, on drugs, full of adrenaline, drunk, psychotic, etc. He may not care that you have a gun, that you shot him. He may not be feeling pain at all, so you have to penetrate deep enough to hit vital organs. There's also the fact that penetration in ballistics gel 1:1 with penetration in a human body. Gel is all one material, the human body is heterogeneous. It's made up of fat, muscle, tendon, bone, tissues with various resilience. 14" in gel, doesn't necessarily equate to 14" in a human body.

You should test hornady frontier 556 and 223 68/75 gr bthp vs aac 75gr bthp . The 75 gr bthp is supposed to be similar or the same as the tap loading from what I have read
@TheKalkara1315 ай бұрын

@CheeseBurgerXJ5 ай бұрын
After a lot of researching, the hornady black 223 75gr bthp is the t1 bullet which is the same as 223 tap 75gr bthp except the 223 tap has a cannelure (t1c) and the black uses a taper crimp. The aac 75gr bthp is the t1c as well. Superformance 556 is a t1 bullet as well. Hornady frontier 556 and 223 75gr bthp is a t2 bullet which is the same as what tap 556 uses. The tap t2 has a larger hollow point pocket. I think that’s the only difference between t1, t1c and t2 bullets. T1 and t1c have a bc of .395 and t2 is .355. I just figured I’d let you know what I found to make it easier.

It’s a fairly inexpensive round. I’m gonna go watch your video on penetration, but I’m almost sure even the 55 would be a fight stopper. Think about it. You’re being hit with a 55 grain bullet. You don’t have to kill the guy, you just have to stop the fight, and I’m pretty sure even the 55 would do that. That said, I always buy he 75.
