AACC 2022 - Kiara Sanders: African American Trailblazers Mural

Kiara Sanders is a visual artist and NCCU alum whose recently completed work, the African American Trailblazers Mural, celebrates some of the many Black civic leaders who helped shape the towns of Chapel Hill and Carrboro.
On January 29, 2022, the 21st Annual African American Cultural Celebration, “Black People, Green Planet: Environmental Justice”, was held at the museum for a virtual audience. Participants enjoyed interactive presentations in several series as well as live performances.
