We are glad that we got the chance to go before it closed. It makes us sad to know that many will never get a chance to experience the museum.

I grew up visiting here. It seamed absolutely massive. Probably close to 100 vehicles in total, including a cobra attack helicopter that I was able to climb into. I now have a much greater appreciation and knowledge of the armor of the past. The collection was so diversified, I have little hope of finding one museum with such a collection. You'd have to visit 4-5 museums up and down the east coast to see every vehicle once displayed here. It was always very laid back. The chaperones, no supervisors. I climbed into one of the tanks once and was only reprimanded by my poppa. RIP to the largest public tank collection in the United States not owned by the military 🫡

What amazing memories. It is so sad that it closed. We were very blessed to get a chance to visit before all the collection was sent away or sold. We would have loved to seen it when the full collection was there.

Im glad we have video records atleast of the collection once housed here.

It is good to have video. That is one of the several reasons that Fred and I VLOG are adventures and share them here for everyone to enjoy.

We are so glad you got to see it before they closed. You were able to see even more Tanks and exhibits then we did. 🙌🏻💕

I’m grateful I was able to tour the museum about ten years ago. It was amazing. It’s a real tragedy that they closed down, however, I get it. It costs a lot of money to operate a place as big as that. The thought that some of their collection will go to rot away in some small town park is heartbreaking. I guess there just isn’t that much interest in history with younger generations now. If they want to see an M3 Stuart they can just Google a picture of one on their IPhone.

Hi 😄 We we’re so glad to get a chance to visit there. We bet it was really filled with stuff ten years ago. You are correct that this is a totally different generation and museums do not seem to be a big part of it. Technology makes looking at history faster and easier. However there is something said for seeing the memorabilia in person 👍🏻💕

Putting museums in the middle of nowhere is inviting failure, that WW2 museum in Bedford is deserted most of the time,.

@@TheEdelKampers a museum about as big as this with the same military theme is Dragonmans museum in Colorado Springs , Colorado, it looks huge but out a bit for me.

Wow, so sad they are closing. Perhaps some of the pieces could be moved to the War Eagle Museum in New Mexico, just outside of El Paso, TX. Keep telling Pat that I want to go over there and visit. ~ Kevin and Pat 🇺🇸🤠🇺🇸 Trixie and Buddy by the way another calico decided she wanted to move in with us. Think she might be pregnant

Hi Kevin, Pat, Trixie and Buddy. Wow, calicos seem to like you guys! Can’t wait to find out if she’s pregnant. It is so sad that the museum had to close down. They did donate some of their tanks to town squares. They are officially closed now. So much history in one place now scattered throughout the states..

I’d been meaning to go there, but never did cus it’s about a 4-5 hour drive away. Was planning to finally go around the end of this month because I’d be driving past it anyways, but just found out yesterday that it had closed last year.

We were there right before. It’s such a shame that it closed we have been unsure if we should post the video but decided to share what recorded while there with everyone. That is why we put why it closed in the title.

O7 wonders wish the government helped fund these places a pity they don't. Guess most of this will end up being distributed else wear...sigh...

We wish they would have been helped too. So much history was in one spot and now the place is closed and all the memorabilia has been spread out throughout the United States. So sad.
