I think this museum is tops. It displays far more of the every day equipment necessary for the prosecution of the war, the necessities of war given very little notice anywhere! Congrats to their effort. The crates for equipment and supply as an illustration of logistics is impressive! And to the photographer on his recording is impressive too !

I visited this museum in 1966 and you have certainly done a lot of good work since then! I'm glad to see the exhibits are now undercover. I remember some of the tanks had holes punched in them by armour piercing shells, even at 17 years old I thought about the brave men that had fought for our freedom.

What freedom?
@richardsproulle26912 жыл бұрын
@@joelvale3887 I accept that freedom will always be relative but I happen to think that Europe is better off without the Nazis. You have a right to disagree with that if you wish.

The vehicle at 12:31 is a LARC-LX (Lighter, Amphibious Resupply, Cargo, 60 ton), originally called BARC (Barge, Amphibious Resupply, Cargo). It was used in the US Army from 1952 to 2001.

It has always amazed me. How us human can be so creative when it comes to killing each other.
@BobBoB-ez1pi5 жыл бұрын
@@knijn Not what I meant. It is amazing how much money and time we humans spend dreaming up ways to kill. When that brain power and money could be used for the greater good of mankind. Finding ways to help the poor and underfeed of this world. No, instead we humans think of ways to kill them and others because they are the wrong color, pray to a different god. Is it not about time we the human race grew up and started to realized that we are all the same, two arm two legs and a head, all have the same needs and hates. Make the governments of the world see that we the people of their counties are bigger than they are, we will no longer be their cannon fodder. To a so called enemy that says something that they find objectionable. There are ways to quell and argument with out using force. Humans must stop listening to the reptilian part of the brain, that say fight, throw your toys out of the pram. Read history, we may have come a long way in technology, but, our desire to raid/destroy the next town/country is still there. So, we as the human race have really progressed as a higher animal not one inch. I am not a pacifist, but I do think we are trying to solve the problem, the same way over and over again. Different people different eras but same ideas, kill. Also, as a demonstration on how much we have progressed in evolution. I site the fact , we still dig holes with shovel's.

Good collection. I notice on the info boards that this is another place that uses an American flag to indicate English. Minor point. (The American language is English and a lot of Brits and Canadians liberated the Netherlands.)
@DarkDutch0075 жыл бұрын
on the boards featuring UK vehicles it has the UK flags and everything that was american and not american nor UK they went for US flag. i know that Canada also build material but i do not know if those were their own creations or licensed build US/UK stuff. who knows, this vid is a couple of years old, there might have been a flag update on the info boards between then and now.

Almost all museums suffer from the same delima.There is never enough room for everything they want to display so its jammed in together.
