Even months later, I still think you guys had an amazing finals run through. I've never gotten to watch it live from the front before but now I have and I can truthfully say, I am so proud of you guys and your band program! Love, A Lancer

Air Academy. People to respect and honor always. They make us, at Fairview, swoon when we see their amazing programs and execution! Power to the Kadets!

According to the CBA Finals Program, this is actually the first time in *seven* years AAHS didn't take Gold. An amazing show -- so glad to see it live several times this season!

Still not sure how this show was 2nd. Not knocking Liberty- this show is so cohesive.

Your band is adequate at best. In my opinion the only reason AAHS wins just about every year is because 1. They have auditions therefor keeping their numbers just about the same where most schools will have a public band so anyone can join. 2. They only have good players but if you take a look at their marching it's not good. And 3 is because they are the biggest funder for CBA. And 4 when they went to BOA they actually got accurately judged and they were considered a 2A band and I believe they got 11th. The CBA judges are not good judges is another problem. There are a few bands that I myself would rather have in the finals instead of some of the other ones. But AAHS does always have cool music so that's good I guess.

Jameson Vazquez I just wanted to address and maybe give you some insight on your points as I'm a Kadet marcher myself. 1) We don't have any auditions for AAHS band. Anyone who wants to join absolutely can, our band director loves the fact that anyone who wants to be apart of our program gets the chance to. 2) I am unsure of who makes raises the most money for CBA. However, in any event, to accuse them of being unethical is kind of a big assumption. To say we are the biggest fundraisers of CBA is insulting to CBA itself. 3) We actually got 9th in 2015, and 10th in 2016 in BOA, not 11th. And we are very proud, as we were up against many Texas bands and still placed above last. (although getting into finals at all was such an accomplishment for us)4) CBA judges are very fair. This last year, Liberty High School (who we encourage and admire) won. They absolutely deserved it, therefore, CBA judges are fair again. Most importantly, I urge you to come watch a practice, or do more research on us before making assumptions. AAHS band works hard. We are so proud of the shows we put out no matter what place we get. The placement isn't what makes our season, its the progress as a whole band. If you're in band, I hope you learn to be kind and encourage others, as that is what marching band is about for us. Good luck next season 😊.

These criticisms are ridiculous and blatantly false. For the record, the students in this band are far too humble and kind to explain to you that every year, there are easily a dozen special needs students taking the field. Mr. Black marches any and every student that wants to be part of this band. There are strict guidelines regarding nonprofits such as the Colorado Bandmasters, do your research before you post such ridiculous accusations publicly. The determination at the national level of band classification (1a, 2a, 3a, 4a) is based on school population size. Period. There are ZERO auditions at Air Academy and their band dues are lower than most in d20 and, even so, most Kadets must fund raise to meet their obligations. These students never criticize one another and respect their directors implicitly and their directors respect these students. You are attempting to negate their hard work and success by casting insults and lies. You should take a look at where you are in your personal journey and why you feel the need to post such blatant lies to (unsuccessfully) bring down others. If you spent even a minuscule amount of time interacting with any past or present students in this band, you would have known that you were posting lies. Do yourself a favor and delete this comment and think long and hard before you post publicly without verifying your information.

They got tenth at BOA, and were competing against the likes of eventual Grand National Champion Broken Arrow.

1) We don't have auditions to join. 2) We won the visual caption in this performance. 3) We don't fundraise for CBA.
