Madhuri Dixit is an actress but she is classically trained in the Indian classical dance, Kathak for 8 years, so she is considered one of the foremost dancers in Bollywood, because her movements and expressions are the best! 'Aaja Nachle' is not really a traditional song, it's somewhat typical bollywood stuff. Though lately bollywood music has become more westernized, it will always have elements of the indian classical/hindustani/folk music, and that's cool because such rich traditions should be celebrated, I feel. :) Thank you for the reaction! I am glad you liked it! "Aaja Nachle" means "come dance". The chorus is something like "come dance, come dance my friend, come dance forgetting everyone". The reason the melody sounded so different is because this is actually a remix of a really old song called "jhumka gira re", a popular dance song from 1966. You can watch that too if you'd like to compare! kzbin.info/www/bejne/eGazqIV-pdaigdk She looks like she is acting and talking during the dance because the original "jhumka gira re" song is about a woman having a lovers's spat, and ending up dropping her earring. So even in the new Aaja Nachle song, the dance steps relate to the lyrics, "I dropped/lost my earring".
