She was very articulate and down to earth. She passed on my birthday; it was the worst birthday I ever had. Aug 25th, 2001, I will never forget it. Every year since then I celebrate her legacy through her music on my birthday. It's been 24 years now, and it seems like yesterday that she was blessing us with her presence on MTV or on BET.
