This is why Beyoncé is my number 1 favourite singer of the 21 century, she didn’t need a “gimmickry images” to sell records unlike most musician she just had a fantastic voice and lovely songs to sing. You don’t get that kind of pop star often in the music industry.

Well music changes, she has to do whatever it takes to stay current and I also noticed too even the way she sings back then she used to do alot of vocal runs and adlibs, but nowadays that's not really necessary in music songs are mostly sung straight without no vocal acrobats. Her voice in the early days had more of jazziness to it.

Yeh. I love how classic original and different they were at the time like she was the it girl then especially on that 1st album. All other r&b girls u could make comparisons on the same type of music vids and songs. She’s timeless. U look back now and really appreciate how really good her songs were and still are. I been listening back on her old albums start to finish paying more attention to her vocal ranges and realise how much effort was made paying attention to every details of how she delivers vocals

In the darkest times of depression, this song has helped me so much. Whenever I got cheated on, this song has been there for me. I've been listening to this song since I was 18 years old (I'm 28 now.) At this point I don't care if she didn't write it completely on her own, it doesn't matter to me at all. This is a work of the soul. All that matters is this beat and Beyonce Knowles voice bringing the energy to this song. The video is such a vibe though. Thanks, Queen B.

OMG! Thank you! Some people are like "All Beyoncé sings about now is sex" because of TWO songs: Drunk In Love & Partition. Or some people aren't fond of 7/11 because it isn't very lyrical but I continue to tell people that in order for an artist to be great, they have to EVOLVE. The reason why Beyoncé is THE TOP ARTIST of our generation is because she isn't stagnant. She sings love songs, to pop songs, to dance songs, to female-empowering songs, to sexual/grown & sexy songs. You have to respect her artistry. She's just an all-around phenomenal artist who's DIVERSE.

I dont think we are going to get another 'classic' R&B album from beyonce again, the sad fact is that R&B has become music background music in the salon. However, im glad that even though the music shes making is alternative R&B its not mindless pop music, id much prefer her to experiment with different sounds like she did on the self titled album and on lemonade than get another i am sasha fierce
