@@skywalker6648 She said her STORY isn't being told, not her MUSIC isn't being played. Artists perform all over the world so it's not surprising to know she still have fans elsewhere. However, her contribution to the culture is a different conversation that isn't explored often by others beyond our country, black platforms, and community. Artists in the industry are still inserting her into their interviews. Her face is still being being plastered on all kinds of merch, birthday celebrated, documentaries, vigils to gather and share memories etc. I just know that's not occurring in Iraq, Jordan, Egypt, Iran, Yemen, or Bahrain🥺. They aren't bumping her heavy on on her death anniversary or copying her style. Yep the way people dress is apart of hip hop as well. Kim Kardashian dressed as her one halloween and folks knew exactly who she was supposed to be. You won't see Steven Tyler from aerosmith sagging his jeans wearing unlaced Timbs and a wife beater on Larry King live talking about what the culture means to him and the impact Aaliyah had on his music.🥺 How he can relate? That's like Rod Wave wearing tight leather pants, fingernails painted, tons eyeliner and a pair of boots by Mary J. Blige. I may not be saying it how I understand it in my head. However it applies to many such as DMX who always spoke about her and he'd usually be on a black platform. Missy Elliot, Genuine, Timbaland, etc. It's not a racial thing that only black people keep their memories alive or listen to them. It's more of a cultural thing which in this instance is R&B and hip hop. It originated within a community that just happened to be black. Rappers tell their stories from a distinct pov expeirences. The grammys were created in the 50's and hip hop didn't have a category until the very late 80's. Will Smith's weird azz and DJ Jazzy Jeff won the very first one. However, rap existed more than a decade before that before that it just wasnt really being acknowleged until Kurtis Blow came along. It's deeper than music it's kind of a lifestyle also. Aaliyah bodied all of it just like Selena did for Tejanos. We listen to her, but it hits different within her culture. Back in the days ou wouldn't have seen women in Kuwait driving around with the burka off blasting Pac's Hit'em Up, wearing ruby red lipstick like Selena and the belly out like Aaliyah.🤣🤣 Sadaam Hussein would've had her head chopped off and hung up at the goat market before the song was over. I'm too fkn high for this right now. But yeah

To have her then boyfriend practically fiance Damon dash have him rise above it when Jay z insisted on working with The predator Showed how much of a kind-hearted, Real Love inside her heart type of truly phenomenal woman we lost at such a young age. People probably don't realize that Aliyah was only 22 when she passed away and she had already had so many number one albums and so many number one singles it is astonishing that Aaliyah was only 22 when she passed away. Was Aaliyah's death preventable? Without a doubt 100% YES this case should be reopened without a doubt and certain people should be looked into. She was an up and coming movie star. She was the princess of R&B music. I believe she was little drunk ass because she was so young still and had so much more to do as a recording artist. Romeo must Die was Aaliyah's break out role. She nailed it!! Queen of the Damned brilliant performance. Hype Williams took the private jet that Lenny Kravitz sent for Aaliyah to the Bahamas because she was uncomfortable on that small plane and never said anything to anyone about it. That should have been looked into in 2002. Jay-Z I believe was somewhat involved in something it may have just been bringing down Aailyah and rising up. She could not we all saw Austin Powers goldfinger that was Beyonce's breakout movie. She did finally book dreamgirls. Her performance was good her lyrical writing for Listen is what she should have won an academy award for. The acting is mediocre at best. The fact that Hank Williams was never ever investigated blows my mind because the following Year Lisa Left eye lopes died in a car accident and Honduras and guess who she was connected to HYPE WILLIAMS

Aaliyah favors her uncle a lot. Her uncle BROKE my heart 💔 when he started crying. Man I miss Aaliyah so much and I also miss my friend Kenny who died in the crash with Aaliyah. Kenny was a best friend to Aaliyah’s mother and she asked him to go with Aaliyah to the Bahamas. She couldn’t attend and she trusted that Kenny would watch over her. He was happy to do it and the day before they left he was so excited, but he shared with me that his wife begged him not to go because she had a dream that something terrible was going to happen. I wish he had told Aaliyah and they both would probably be alive here in California today. R.I.H.P Aaliyah and Kenny ❤️🌹❤️🌹❤️🌹❤️🌹❤️🌹❤️ BTW, I named my daughter AALIYAH after her beautiful soul.

I have always been suspicious of Aaliyah's family, including her uncle. He seems genuine now and probably has developed a conscience over the years as he has gotten older, especially since his stroke. But I always thought that Aaliyah's image and musical themes were too mature for her age, which none of them seemed to mind at the time. With everything that has emerged, I think her mother in particular encouraged certain behaviours and activities of Aaliyah in exchange for her fame. I understand that the mother also had an inappropriate relationship with R Kelly, and took his publishing in return for not reporting him to the police after what he did to Aaliyah. A decent mother should be more concerned about her daughter's well-being than cash, surely 🤔. It's shocking to learn that Aaliyah's uncle has fallen out with his sister. But this sadly confirms to me that her mother is a questionable character who was always prepared to exploit her daughter. If her family spent more time protecting her rather than capitalising on her talent, she may still be alive today.

He is trying to dissociate himself now but in reality, he continued to manage R. Kelly for years after the marriage was revealed.

A life gone way to soon. 😢 I believe that Aaliyah's family turned a blind eye to what was going on with her and R. Kelly, but ultimately, it was his fault. Her story is probably very similar to all the other young girls. I think the uncle has a lot of regrets and her mother as well. There are so many bad decisions that were made in the moment. I believe that after the R. Kelly situation, the family tried to regroup, be supportive, and get her back on track because she wanted to continue her career.
