I'll never forget. It was a Saturday. I was cleaning up my little apartment and with the radio on, Rock The Boat played. I remember thinking that I couldn't wait to see the choreography for this song. When the news came that she had died, brokenhearted was an understatement.

Directors and Producers in Hollywood were lining up to get Aaliyah in movie roll after roll! Fr she would have been huge worldwide like Drake or MJ music wise + an acting career with main character roles. Not many artists have been able to achieve both. I was 13 when Aaliyah passed away. When I was over at my aunt's house, my aunt woke me up from my nap and broke the news to me like it was a close relative that passed. The gloom filled the air, as she was sitting on he couch, breaking the news to me. Upon turning on the TV when I got home, there was the news coverage that I wished was just a nightmare to eventually wake from. I wept so hard like a baby, as if I lost a big sister. Now, 20 years later, she is still deeply and sorely missed. Her legacy and undeniable impact on the world will live on forever. RIP, baby girl🌹🌹🕊🕊

I cried when I found out that she had passed away in a horrible plane crash and I remember screaming at the top of my lungs telling my whole family what had just happened on the world news.
