Hey and thanks so much for the great question. As of the time i write this answer, universities in Finland have not yet decided what to do with the SAT's as of 2021. Its important to note that the SAT Subject Tests (or the SATs with an essays) are permanently eliminated by The College Board and these tests are no longer offered. This means that universities around the world have to think of a new way to test their candidates (if they had previously relied on the SAT subject tests). As mentioned, universities in Finland have not yet decided what to do about this but once they do, they will publish all the information on their application webpages. In Finland, university application requirements are always dependent on each individual university as well as on the programme that you are applying to. These requirements are usually updated each year around September-October on each university's webpage. So what i would recommend you to do is to keep an eye out on the Aalto university application webpage and check it e.g. once per week until they update it for the next intake. Hope this helps 👍

I am looking to apply for bachelor in fashion design at Aalto next year from India. I have read that if you apply for a residence permit, you are eligible for free tuition. So should I apply for the residence permit after getting into Aalto as I wouldn't want to waste money on the permit application process if I don't get in. But also, is it necessary to have the permit at the time of filling the application for Aalto? How much time does it take to get a residence permit?

Hey, I am finishing my GCSEs year 2 and plan to do IB for 11th and 12th grade. I want to apply for International business or finance or something similar for bachelors next to next year. How competitive would it be? Also will not knowing Finnish be a problem?
@RoadtoFinnish
@RoadtoFinnish 4 жыл бұрын
Hey Aarav. Im sorry for taking such a long time to answer. For some reason I forgot to write you a reply when I saw your comment in the first place. This is a pretty difficult for me to say because the requirements depend on the university and the study programme + the requirements change every year. You would be applying with the SAT's and the requirements for each individual programme is usually stated on the programme website. As mentioned, these change every year because the spots are granted on a competitive basis and thus the minimum requirements change every year based on the level of the applicants. There aren't yet that many English taught Bachelor's level programmes for finance or international business. I don't want to go too deep into this, but to summarise, most English taught programmes in Finland have historically been Master's programmes and the universities have only recently started building English taught Bsc level programmes. However, I do urge you to check out the International business programme at Aalto University: www.aalto.fi/en/study-options/bachelors-programme-in-international-business-mikkeli-campus Aalto is the highest ranking university in Finland and the degrees you can get from Aalto are most highly valued in Finland.

Hi great video, How many days do you attend to school in a week? And for how many hours?
@RoadtoFinnish
@RoadtoFinnish 2 жыл бұрын
That is fully dependent on the programme that you are studying in, the amount of courses that you are having as well as on your personal schedules. So its impossible to say. However, it would be wise to consider studying as a full-time job.

Is there a chance to apply for English admission for this year even after January?
@RoadtoFinnish
@RoadtoFinnish 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Houssam and thanks for the question. Unfortunately the answer is no. The application period for different English taught programmes runs once per year. The exact dates might change slightly, but usually they run between December and January. E.g. for programmes starting in 2020, the application periods were as follows: Master's programmes: 02/12/2019 - 03/01/2020 Bachelor's programmes: 08/01/2020 - 22/01/2020 Did you already apply to a programme in January or were you planning on doing it later this year / next year?

@RoadtoFinnish
@RoadtoFinnish 4 жыл бұрын
@@houssam2076 Ach i understand. Unfortunately Finnish universities have, in general, only one application period for Master's level programmes per year. There are a few exceptions but do mind that the bulk of the available programmes are included in the application period that runs between December and January. You can check out all currently open applications here: bit.ly/2Iqm2bR 👆 make sure to use the following filters: 1. Language of instruction: English 2. Education type: Higher (Master's degree etc) 3. Application period ongoing

how hard is it to get into Aalto Engineer master degree? Is it very difficult to be admitted?
@RoadtoFinnish
@RoadtoFinnish 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Riccardo and thanks for the question! Unfortunately its impossible for me to answer this question. There are dozens of different Master's level engineering programmes at Aalto and each of them have their unique admission criteria. Also, all programmes are competitive and the minimum criteria for each programme can change year from year. Did you have a specific programme already in mind? You can see all of the options here: www.aalto.fi/en/study-options

@RoadtoFinnish
@RoadtoFinnish 4 жыл бұрын
@@riccardo2948 Oh that sound super interesting! Im actually really interested in all-things technology and one of the biggest regrets I have is not focusing on mathematics. This basically meant that I had to rule out any and all engineering programmes.. Again, its tough to say how hard it is to get into the Electronics and Nanotechnology programme, but based on the evaluation criteria, there are only a few things that you can yourself impact: 1. Content of the previous degree (make sure to include relevant courses to your Bachelor's degree) 2. Recognition and quality of the home university (can't impact this) 3. Study success (get as high as GPA as possible) 4. Motivation and commitment (most likely a motivation letter) 5. Other relevant achievements (it would be great if you have previous work experience from the field) 6. Recommendations (prioritise academic recommendations like your professors) 7. Language proficiency Based on these criteria, I would put all of my focus on getting as high GPA as possible as well as making sure that your Bachelor level study plan includes relevant courses. More information on the programme and the evaluation criteria can be found here: www.aalto.fi/en/study-options/masters-programme-in-electronics-and-nanotechnology Again, sorry for not being able to help more on this topic.

@@mustakinsheikh7759 There are a few universities in Finland (havent checked which ones for 2021 so you need to check this yourself) that offer an early bird scholarship. This early bird scholarship is basically just a discount of their tuition fees for those that accept their study place in those schools before a given deadline.
