Dear Aamir -- wish and your team all success in this venture. You are right. India gets more rain than many other countries. We need to save rainwater, allow it to seep into the ground, instead of getting washed away in drains or into the sea. We also need to learn the secrets of desert areas where people have learned to slow down loss through evaporation. Please consult experts throughout the country, the world. And this sort of water conservation work should be taken up through the length and breadth of the country, by many more groups.

The problem is we do not know the Marathi language and there is no subtitle available in those videos. Here's a solution! The Rain Maker. When we come to the issue of water scarcity, most of the solutions focus on conservation and recycling. But what if we could take the limitless supply of seawater and turn it into fresh water. Here’s a solution to do that, it’s called the Rain Maker, a product of the Stage 2 Innovations lab. The Rain Maker is a machine the size of a small car which takes in seawater or polluted water and turns it into fresh water, suitable for drinking, agriculture and industrial applications. It can do a thousand gallons per hour. The idea behind the machine is to mimic nature, where it heats the input water and the resulting vapor is taken to a different compartment. The moisture is then distilled and you get fresh water. Unlike other desalination systems, Rain Maker recycles its heat energy making it incredibly clean and efficient. Also, it has no screens, no membranes that can go bad, making the machine durable. The production approach is to stamp out multiple machines quickly for a large-scale implementation. For example, installing hundreds of them on a barge which takes in enormous amounts of water from the ocean and pumps out fresh water to the coast via tubes. This can solve the problem of fresh water scarcity on a huge scale and the resulting impact will be economic prosperity, better health and livelihood. I haven’t seen much of this in the news, but it is something which has to get people’s attention. What you can do is to tell your friends, coworkers and officials in local, state and national government about the Rain Maker. Water conservation is necessary but this one is a radical solution. How I can be part of your team? My credentials - Lot of water is wasted on hand wash at wash basin. I designed foot controlled hand wash. It means user use his foot to control the flow of water, no hands touch to tap. No hands touch gives more hygiene. It saves 80% water on hand wash. It is totally mechanical and kills motion sensing taps technology. I showcased my work at IIT Delhi. Fyi: You did campaign on 'Malnutrition quit india'. Try search it on google and you will find my solutions/work as the first link on the google search. You did PK movie. Guru nanak dev ji played role of PK.
