Imran Khan was not only a good player but also he was a great leader in the cricket Field. He was a genuine and true mentor. He led by example of himself. He had a great quality to search the right players himself rather than selection committee. Waqar, Wasim, Saeed Anwar and Inzamamulhaq are the living legends given by Great Imran Khan.

Amirbai, Very good to hear your analysis. I was at Old Trafford in 1992 and saw your 205 by 5pm on day 1!... I also think your 70 odd against Aus at Perth was the turning point of the 1992 WC, the way you hammered the bowlers showed the 'intent'. I think Aqib is an unsung hero as he bolwed beautifully in that game and in the final. How quick was M Zahid and a peak Waqar in comparison to Shoaib akhtar?

Amir Bhai you mentioned that Sarfaraz trapped Miandad in a Wills Cup Match: Here are 2 scenarios: First: HBL vs Lahore City On 10 February 1983 Captain: Sarfaraz Nawaz Lahore City, JavedMiandad HBL Batting First Lahore made 241 in 45 overs. Good score. Amir Sohail did not play this match. Habib Bank won this match by 4 Wickets. Sarfaraz bowled well and he got Miandad wicket in this match but Miandad declared Man of the match by producing 64 runs match-winning innings. So that means Miandad knew how to play Big Bird Sarfaraz. 2nd Scenario In Wills cup 1984 HBL vs Lahore City Again the date was 10 February Again the captains were the same. Miandad and Sarfaraz . HBL scored 242 Sarfaraz got Miandad wicket at his individual score 12. Perhaps Aamir Bhai is talking about this match. Yes, here he was caught behind by keeper Riaz Saeed. Lahore made 202 Habib Bank won by 40 Runs Amir Bhai played this match and batted at no 7 . Anwar Miandad took his wicket and his elder brother Miandad took the catch. This was Aamir Bhai's debut match in list A cricket. No doubt about that Sarfaraz was a great bowler.

Can not disagree with you on this one. No doudt Fazal Mahmood, Sarfraz Nawaz and Imran Khan were the greats Pakistan has produced but i would add Wasim and Waqar as well in that list because of what they have achieved.As you mentioned Imran Khan has to be above all of them because he mentored almost all the bowlers even batsmen who played under him. He was a real superstar in Pakistan team for most of his career.

Nice video Sir. The answer to your question is that rivalry between Waseem and Waqar never allowed to settled any young bowler. Many bowler came in that Era like Muhammad Zahid, Muhammad Akram, Shahid Nazeer and Fazl e Anbar. I believe they never guided New bowlers. They used to feel insecure. These are my views. Looking forward to hear from you soon. Best wishes from Rawalpindi.

After wasim and waqar retirement, cricket changed in 2007.with emergence of T20 cricket it became difficult for bowlers to play all three formats on consistent basis with same intensity.with more cricket chances of getting injured increased too

It's great to acknowledge greatness in people no matter how many differences in opinion you have with them. Such is Amir's sweet disposition. Amir, you asked a question that why after Sir Fazal ,Sarfaraz and Imran ,no body did work on enhancing the talent in youngsters. AND the answer is that they didn't have particular character to train young talent OR perhaps they didn't have a will.
@manishmohan71924 жыл бұрын
I think Pakistan could not find quality fast bowler post Wasim-Waquar era because of foreign coaches who could not connect with them. As you had mentioned in your show that greatest Pakistani fast bowlers like Sarfaraz, Imran, Wasim learnt the tricks from their Senior players only.

Salaam Aamir bhai, Another fabulous KZbin video from you full of knowledge and experience..... Imran Khan in my opinion has to be one of THE greatest cricketers of all time not just a brilliant fast bowler who was a charismatic 1982 World Cup winning captain for Pakistan..... Beating England in England in 1987 1-0 (3 Tests) was a first for Pakistan under Imran and I was fortunate to be at Headingley to see Imran bowl with thunderous match figures of 10/77 and Pakistan take the series..!! Then drawing 1-1 in and against the mighty WestIndies in 1988 was a huge achievement when the last team to win a series in the Caribbean was in 1980..!!! I firmly believe if there was no Imran Khan, there would be no Wasim or Waqar..... Imran’s inspiration and win at all cost attitude rubbed off on these two W’s and since Imran no captain has been able to replicate what Imran Khan did for Pakistan by way of wisdom, experience and presence..... It was Imran who instigated Wasim and Waqar’s long English county contracts hence both gain vast fast bowling experience on varied wickets..... Not many Pakistan cricketers play English league cricket let alone county cricket now, huge loss and huge problem..!! And one more thing if Imran had been free from his terrible shin fracture mid career he would have been on course for 500 plus Test wickets as he did not bowl during this time for three years...!! Imran Khan oozed A-list class and presence be it at Lords or Knightsbridge..... Imran once did say if after his captaincy, Pakistan had a captain with a passionate win at all cost attitude then it was you...Aamir Sohail!! I will leave it there..... My best wishes from Yorkshire

Very different show but extremely enjoyable. Looking forward to the next show. I think the main reason for short term stint of fast bowlers is due to lack to commitment, skill improvement, reading batsmen's strengths and weaknesses, diet plan and a strict sporting routine to remain fit all the time. Wasim and waqars pace went down in later part of their career but even then they took wickets based on thier skill and experience. Only pace can not make the difference, one has to keep on evolving and think of improvisation which is missing in the bowlers of recent times. You should have shared 1992 WC final story when you had the courage to tell him that "he shouldn't bowl as batsmen will score easily of him and he just smiled at you".

RD Goswami Fazal Mahmood, Sarfaraz Nawaz and Imran Khan were not only great skilful bowlers, but they also mentored their juniors, passing on their knowledge. But did Wasim, Waqar or Shoaib help out their juniors in the same manner or were they allowed to do so by the PCB. Aaqib, Sami, Gul, Aamir, Asif could have done much better or played much longer.

Wasim Akram & Waqar Younus sahab ni Youngster's ko bilkul trained nhi kia. ws ki jori bhot achi thi infiradi satah pr ye bhot achy bowlers thy dunya mi inka aik namm hy but in mi ye greatness nhi thi k new bowlers ko trained kerain. issi ly Pakistan Cricket team din bdin zawal ka Shikar ho gai. Amir, great show. You have a refreshing approach as you don’t waste time in inanities. Lovely to know about Fazal Saab’s incident....methinks he was dapper than Imran! When you find time pls do an episode on Imran’s evolution from a medium pacer to a genuine quick. Ppl often lose pace but Imran turned the corner when he was almost 29 and had fantastic career late into 30s. This subject deserves more analysis, rigorous study and understanding.
